I take it by 8 pieces, they mean 4 pots and 4 lids. I had a cheap T-fal set from Wal-Mart 13 years ago and they're still working fine, although the paint has come off the outside. But we got a 20 piece non-stick set from Costco 3 years ago which is absoutely great. That was about $90.

I'm not too good with cookware, but my mom uses a Teflon pan. If you do get a Teflon pan, and you're cooking eggs, dont scrape the spoon to hard on the Teflon inside, because some parts might fall into the food :(

Rivere ware is your best buy for quality and price range. This cookware can be purchased at any local huge department store.

I've had the same set of T-Fal pots and pans for YEARS. I've used them and used them, they've made several moves with me and my family, some are dented, some are banged up, but I refuse to toss them. They are the best I've ever used and with all the cooking I've done over the years, they still maintain their non-stick coating. You can get a very nice set at Walmart for around 50 bucks!

edit to chefgrille above me: This is so funny, I posted this before reading your post, it just cracked me up because most of the paint is gone from my pans too, but they just don't quit do they?!!

provided that i've got not tried all of them, i don't be responsive to if this is the main suitable form, yet T-fal tricky Anodized cookware, no longer Teflon lined, is extremely good. I prefer my forged iron over the rest i've got ever used.

I use calpholan and it works really good. Any good chef must also have a well seasoned cast iron pan.
