If there is an onmipotent, capable of doing anything, could he make a rock heavier than he could lift.

Omnipotence is not possible.

...but since the gods aren't, it doesn't bug me.

Ha! That's interesting. You could read Dawkins' "The God Delusion." God cannot be omnipotent AND omniscient. An omniscient God would have to know all of the past, present and future - ie, he/she/It would have to have a plan. An omnipotent God would be able to break free from this "plan." and change the course of history. It's an interesting book.

no. because he is omnipotent. You're contradicting yourself, speaking in theories while staying inside the rules. An omnipotent would be outside the rules and because we are constantly inside the rules, we cannot think outside of them and cannot comprehend the rules governing our own question.

omnipotence has nothing to do with building anything.. omnipotence means being everywhere at the same time..and being all powerful.. if it is all powerful.. it cannot create something greater than itself.

yes and once he showed you he could not lift it he'd un make it .( but God really would never feel the need to prove anything to you
