I think my alzeheimer's is kicking in again and it escapes me. I can see they sure seem to engender a lot of trouble and even war. But do they help you keep your job when it is threaten to be going overseas? Did it pay the copayment on your last prescription. What did you learn from your religion this month? I am getting a little uneasy about the dangerous conflict with world religions.

Don't worry about the conflicts engendered by religion. We Christians welcome that as the sign of the coming rapture.
We don't need jobs. God will take care of everything!
We don't need to make payments either. We've given so much money to god he can afford to pay for everything from now on. I can't tell you what I actually learnt from religion this month. I was aware there was any learning involved. To tell the truth, I got tired of learning stuff in school, so I don't like it much. Learning is hard. I just like to sit there and drift off, until they make me sing, then i know it's time to go to "I Hop" and get pancakes.. mmm yummy yummy pancakes, covered in red syrup, mmm so good! And sausages! I love the sausages! Religion is good because we get good food. Yum. Then watch football or baseball. I always pray for my team to win. Oh yes, and I pray for our troops to kick unholy butts. But the pancakes are the best thing about my religion. I can't wait until next Sunday!

That's too ambigious a question for a good response. That's like asking "Tell me again why stuff is good". The question creates a false dichotomy in that the only available answers appear to be "Religion is good because... or Religion is not good because..."

Most religions would maintain that only their religion is good and others are not so it's a yes and no type answer.

It's like asking someone to tell you why politics are a good thing. Politics may be overwhelmingly a bad thing, except of course for your political views. Your political views are of course good. The problem with politics lies with views that disagree with yours.

So your question is essentially "throwing out the baby with the bath water".

We know that all religions can't be true at the same time and in the same sense. Therefore the only possiblities are:
1) All religions are false
2) All religions are false with the exception of one being right

If (1) is the case, then the answer to your question is that "all religions are a bad thing" because in addition to being untrue, they have created war, division, bigotry, intolterance etc...

If (2) is the case, then the answer to your question is that "religions are a bad thing, with the exception of religion ___" That religion is a "good thing" by virture of the fact that it's true. Even if you disagree with it's principles, tenants, and the actions of it's followers, it's at least good by virture of it being true, or corresponding to reality. Knowing truth is a good thing, whether you like it or not, for truth empowers. It gives you the ability to make an informed decision on the matter it "truly" represents.

Not all religions but basically religion is a good thing so you will not be like a British teenager, with no moral, no idea what is good or bad, no sense of family, dignity or consideration for other.

Plus a better idea of why you are here, what you want and where are you going, for some people is nothing, for me all this things are basic and quite a lot for enjoying and understanding life.

Much better Jesus than Dolce and Gabana.

Muhammad is not any better than Jesus by any ability. in accordance to the Quran all Prophets are equivalent. the reason Muslims communicate approximately Muhammad greater is as a results of the fact he's the suited Prophet. Do Christians communicate approximately Moses, Isaac, and Abraham greater Church then Jesus? No, they do no longer. As for Jesus being the son of God(Muslims call God Allah that's the Arabic be conscious for God) Muslims don't think that. they suspect that Jesus grew to become into created an analogous way Adam grew to become into created. Mary gave miraculously in the process the will of God. additionally they do no longer have faith he ineffective the two. they suspect that Jesus grew to become into raised to heaven by using God. i'm hoping I helped :D

I don't think it is, really. I'm beginning to think it is dangerous to continue to believe in superstitious, supernatural reasons, or causes, or events, or... whatever!
It takes religious believers out of the "here and now", which is the only thing that matters, at the moment, and wastes countless resources on crap that nobody knows is true or not (likely not). It is the source of more misery than can be imagined. Wars, genocide, millions of dollars given away to televangelists, usually coming from those least able to afford it.
Religion really is a blight on our landscape.

Hi,
Good question. We used to use religiuon as a way of coping with death, but it seems religion is now the cause of a lot of misery and is really outdated. Look at countries in the middle east....war ravaged countries, oppressed women, squabbling over land and who it belongs to....all due to religion.

Innocent people being blown up in civilised westen countires, due to the religious fanatics coming over from middle eastern countires, forcing their opinions on us like it aint no thang....all due to religion.

i keep a wide birth from it all. i live a good, honest life, dont hurt anyone, try to be charitable....so on my death bed i wont feel like i've let anyone down...

If you want to know the "facts of life" about religion:
It is Politically Correct to attack, and sneer at any religion except Islam.
You must not attack Islam because the Imams will tell their "herd of dumb oxen" not to vote for you!

Just go and read old questions. As for your war questions God doesn't want war he is a loving ,a peaceful God. Man creates war.Weither it's over a religon or whatever. It's still Man who starts wars. If all people accually done what the Bible tells them and not what they want to think it says. As far as what God has done for me lately With moneyand other things. All I have to is trust in Him. I do and He has never falled to provide for my family. When I would wonder how I would pay this bill or something. It never falled to for something to happen and I would be able to pay it. But I know if I didn't trust in him then the out come would be different.
