Two of my very best friends are getting married in a couple of months. They have put me in charge of coming up with a fun creative idea for center pieces for the reception tables. They are not very traditional people, so it has to be something wacky and interesting. I'm usually good at coming up with this kinda stuff, but for some reason, when it really matters, I'm drawing a blank . PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

i would go to theknot.com. you can see pictures of other weddings and you can take ideas from that and make something that can work for your friends.

the board game idea is kind of cool. We almost used old school metal wind up toys and marbles. Another idea was copies of our favorite books in cool arrangements, but we finally settled for a more traditional style and are using some flowers, apples and round balls covered with whole coffee beans. You have to give more info about what the couples are into. I think it would be awesome to have a grafiti art style table runner, which brings up a good point. Fabric is pretty easy and versatile and you can find some very cool stuff. Shag tablecloths, anyone? Ok, maybe not that crazy, but you get the point. If you have a theme it's pretty easy.

I went to a wedding once and the couple were very sports oriented so that was kind of there reception theme. Are your friends going with a theme? Give a few more details to work with and I will give ideas!!

How about black fancy fish in glass bowls. Provide "adoption kits" to the children and I'm sure by the end of the night, the fish will have found a home. This was a cute idea to get children involved. I had found the idea in a magazine a few months ago. Good luck, I'm not much for ideas either when it is really important

I always wanted to do bowls of fruit, I think that the look could be quite eclectic if you even went so far as to choose mismatched bowls....there are several reasons why this idea rocks;

1. its BEE friendly
2. The center pieces are edible
3. Its more affordable than flowers
4. Ever see left over centerpieces at weddings? this way, if thats the case, you could just eat them the next day.

if you wanted to have flowers, I think that they could also be incorporated into the arrangement, even edible ones for adventurous guests!

It would help if we knew what their colors are, or if there is a theme to the wedding, or stuff that they both enjoy or hobbies or something, but i did find some sites that may help with ideas, good luck!
