I think that it depends on how you die. A person who dies in his/her sleep would probably have just faded away. Cancer victims would have it the worst - but the doctors are liberal with the pain meds. It's hard to answer your question because we really don't know.

How are we supposed to know??? we never died and the people who know are sort of dead!! And it depends on how you die

not that i or anyone else has experienced it that can answer this...

but im guessing if it was instant, i would say no, if it took a while and they suffered, then probably yes.
