Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years. The questions I have is the pus from the gum? Like a pimple? if that is the case you have a nerve in the tooth that is dying and you need a root canal to save the tooth. THIS you CAN NOT wait on. Call your dentist immediately and get an appointment and an Xray. This is a simple procedure to fix, but waiting you can lose the tooth and this is extremely costly to repair the cosmetic look. For now use very salty warm water rinses every 2-3 hours until bed. Keep you fingers out of your mouth and brush and floss and rinse before bed. The salt rinses will draw out the infection and help healing. it will also help with the nasty taste from the infection. you need a hands on Expert to help you with this and not an open forum like a site here. PLEASE see a dentist ASAP. If you have any other questions, please ask. Marie

was 4 days ago you wrote this so, by now you are either in pain it has gone away or you've been to the dentist, if for some reason. I'm wrong and you're not in pain it is still leaking puss and you haven't yet been to the dentist get an emergency appointment and go tomorrow

it may have been caused by various thing such as tooth decay or infection or may be you got hurt and it didnt heal properly.

the best thing to is obviously go see a dentist.

in the mean time cut down you sweet intakes. brush with good toothpaste (like Emoform) and use over the counter antibacterial mouth wash. this will help in reducing the puss while you GET THE APPOINTMENT to see your dentist.

It's probably gingivitis, or gum disease - it happened to me and I also had a horrrible taste in my mouth all the time. All I did was to buy a new toothbrush and some dental floss. cleaned my teeth twice a day and flossed once a day (very important, flossing!) Then after brushing washed my mouth out with Listerine. After a week it was so much better and I never looked back.

You have an infection which won't go away until the issue is treated. You'll need an antibiotic. As far as why...it could be numerous things..your dentist will take an X-ray and let you know.

abscess. take amoxicillin 500 mg 3 times a day for 5 days.

My guess is Marie D is a dental nurse or assistant, not a dentist, a wannabe.
