Your dog is reacting as any normal mother would - she is protecting her babies!! She sees the cat as a potential threat which is why she is showing aggression towards it. You should also know that until the pups are weaned (eating on their own) she will be really protective of them and she shouldn't be bothered a whole lot - by people, cats, or other dogs! She will also be very protective of her food as well, so make sure she has a lot and that she can eat without being bothered by your other pets. After the puppies are weaned then she and the cat will become friends again.

If the cat is anywhere near the puppies, your dog is going to get aggressive and protect her puppies. Try to keep the cat away from your dog and her puppies for a while. If they got along before the puppies, they will get along again. The mom's main concern right now is her babies.

The dog just doesn't want the cat by her puppies. She is being protective. Don't worry about it and try to keep the cat away from the dog so the mom doesn't get stressed out. They will be fine once the dog starts weening the puppies.

Probably the cat is curious and that would upset the dog. She is very overprotective at this stage. as time goes on and the puppies are able to hold their own she will tonne down again. no guarentee that dog and cat will go back to their old relationship but probably.

You did not specify what the problem behavior is, but your dog will do anything to protect her puppies.
Cat's are hunters. Make sure you keep them separate until the puppies are older.
She may feel the cat is a threat to her puppies (even if it isn't, it is hard wired in their genes).
Once the puppies are older, they will go back to their old relationship.

supply her a high quality kitten meals on an identical time as she is pregnant and nursing, she desires the better meals. without seeing her i won't have the capacity to declare how far alongside she is, yet they in many cases start to tutor at with regards to the halfway mark A vet could be waiting to grant you a greater suited theory, and being pregnant verify up does no longer harm. ingesting the dogs meals won't harm her as long as she has cat meals to consume additionally, dogs meals does not have all the meals cats prefer. My cat eats the dogs meals for all time. additionally get the male neutered now because of the fact your lady will flow into warmth returned approximately 4 weeks after giving beginning. no longer in basic terms is that yet another pointless clutter, in spite of the shown fact that it extremely is not any longer very healthful for her to have them that close mutually. Get her fastened after all the toddlers are weaned and get the kitten you keep fastened at 4 months previous.

The mother is just being protective of her babies. That is her job. After the pups get older and are weaned, things will go back to normal.

Any mother is going to defend it's babies.
The cat is bound to be curious about them too.
It's better to keep them apart until the puppies are older.
They'll be friends again later.
