So much about becoming "saved," worshipping, proclaiming Jesus as your personal savior, etc., is based upon having faith in something for which there is NO solid proof. The fact that we believe in something of which there is no tangible evidence is THE critical piece to believing in God and giving your heart to the Lord. Am I right?

God gave us free will so that we could be given the choice to believe in Him or not, correct?

If so, didn't the people who lived with Jesus and witnessed his miracles have an unfair advantage in terms of believing in God? There was no test for them. They had some pretty solid proof right in front of their eyes. Their experiences were the equivalent of being handed the cheat sheet for salvation.

What accounts for this discrepancy in fairness? I don't know a lot about the reasoning of Christian beliefs, so I ask this question honestly. No need for judgments about my afterlife. I'm just requesting an explanation. Thanks.

Jesus lived for less than 35 years. So everyone before or after Him in history has to rely entirely on faith for His existence. Actually many people (Pharisees and scribes) thaty witnessed His miracles still did NOT believe He was the Son of God.

Jhn 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed.

The world says "seeing is believing."
Christians say "believing is seeing!"

Can Jesus create a universe like God did? Can Jesus place billions of galaxies in the universe like Gid did? NO. because of the fact Jesus is a prophet of God and did each and every thing with the will of God no longer with the help of himself. If Jesus (being a God) behaved like a human and he lost maximum of his powers in this international while born right here then he fairly isn't all-powerful. If he's not all-powerful then he definitily isn't God. because of the fact God is in a position to do all issues. He created the universe, the heaven and the earth and despite is in between and he won't be able to loose his powers no mater the place he's.

Well, you could make your case based on just one witness I suppose, but the fact of the matter is there was not the mass communication there is today. There were a comparative hand full who actually witnessed anything. Just something to think about.

I wish I had the answer. This is a fabulous question, one I have wondered myself. How nice it would be to have had the opportunity to observe Jesus as he walked the Earth.

It's also a very complex question. On SO many levels. I'll keep my eye to see what the others have to say.

Yes they did and that explains why there were so many martyrs the first century when Christians sang while they were being eaten by the lions. They were sure of what they believed and were willing to die rather than deny what they knew to be true.
