So much about becoming "saved," worshipping, proclaiming Jesus as your personal savior, etc., is based upon having faith in something for which there is NO solid proof. The fact that we believe in something of which there is no tangible evidence is THE critical piece to believing in God and giving your heart to the Lord. Am I right?
God gave us free will so that we could be given the choice to believe in Him or not, correct?
If so, didn't the people who lived with Jesus and witnessed his miracles have an unfair advantage in terms of believing in God? There was no test for them. They had some pretty solid proof right in front of their eyes. Their experiences were the equivalent of being handed the cheat sheet for salvation.
What accounts for this discrepancy in fairness? I don't know a lot about the reasoning of Christian beliefs, so I ask this question honestly. No need for judgments about my afterlife. I'm just requesting an explanation. Thanks.
