It can be, or it could be your roots. Or it could be a skin condition called Acanthosis Nigricans.

I have the same problem, and I thought it was my deodorant even though I hadn't changed for 5 years. Then I was told by a friend that it was just the roots of my armpit. Now I come to find out that I have Acanthosis Nigricans.

I suggest talking with a doctor to rule out a hormonal problem or tumor.

I don't think that it's the deodorant that's making your armpit darker, it's just that it happens naturally if you shave because the roots are still there and you haven't gotten rid of the entire thing. For the deodorant, you should choose one that is at least brand name and not just something that's at the 99 cent store. If it helps to choose one, you can go to Target. They have an entire aisle there that has deodorant.

Try Dove deodorant it smells great and keeps you dry but it also has 3/4 of moisturizers in it to protect your under arms and keep them smooth and pretty. If you shave your armpits often, that could be a source of the discoloration...it almost always is. You should think about using a hair removal cream or even waxing if you're brave enough.

Try Dove deodorant it's goes on clear and it's easier on underarm skin. I don't know why your armpits are dark, try scrubbing with a washcloth. Most of the deodorants on the market on harsh and hard to come off sometimes. Dove is best.

well if you shave your armpits. it could be the hair under neither the skin. you may want to purchuas a good shaver, an shave almost everyday underthere.

or from not scrubbing enought could probally build up dirt or something like that? Not sure never heard of dark armpits, except on OLDER people like in there 50s sometime get it. you may want to check with a doctor cuz it can be some type of infection.

I sugest useing a gel. This takes a little time to dry but dosnt show up on your clothes but instead it makes your armpit lighter that is the only downer. But with these gels you could get scents like tropical breze lavender and orchard peach they smell good and keep you dry so try them out!!! THANKS!!!

dove ultimate clear is a deodorant and it lightens the armpits.
when the sweat glands r suppressed not to produce sweat, the toxins accumulate under the skin causing darkening of the skin

parts of our skin that gets darker than the rest of our body are called skin folds - underarms, inner thighs, elbows, butt, knees - and this is because these are usually rubbed against surrounding skin, clothing we wear, surfaces we get in contact with everyday, skin potions we apply..

simply apply a good skin lightening cream every night at bedtime.. there's a nice $9 cream here which is safe and potent -

i dont think deoderant makes your armpit darker but if it did, i would recommend gels or anything that goes on clear.
