This actually depends more on what character she is auditioning to play, than on the state of her skin. If the audition is really important, as you imply it is, they will have skilled make-up artists and lighting designers to hide imperfections. Have you never seen pictures of Cameron Diaz's bad skin condition? She is well-known in the business for having bad skin.
How old is your sister? If she's in her early to late teens, the casting director won't be surprised if she has some acne. However, at this age, your sister is perhaps more likely to be over-anxious about the issue and this stress will NOT help. So, firstly, tell her not to get too stressed about her appearance. Do NOT wear any make-up at all, either in the run-up to the audition, and especially not when she actually goes to it. This is a golden rule - directors want to see the actor's *natural* look. Make-up, as she probably knows, can clog the pores and actually cause spots, so over the next few days, tell her to thoroughly remove all make-up and stay off it until AFTER the audition.
Tell her to drink plenty of water. Most people drink too little and looking healthy is a function of *being* healthy. How to know how much to drink? She mustn't drink so much that her water is clear and she has to pee every hour, but aim to avoid dark coloured pee (that is too concentrated and indicates dehydration).
Advise her to follow a normal healthy eating programme e.g. fresh fruit and vegetables; big (in calories, not amount) breakfast, medium dinner, and small supper.
Advise her NOT to squeeze *anything* that looks like a pimple or spot. This is really difficult to resist but it is absolutely the worst thing to do if there isn't really a spot coming i.e. it'll just get sore and redden and possibly *become* a spot in a couple of days. Also, if she squeezes what *is* a spot, the squeezing often pushes bacteria into the roots of the skin pores; this can cause the infection that causes the swelling and puss, to spread, in turn causing *more* acne.
Make she she doesn't mix acne creams and treatments in desperation. This will alter the medicinal properties of all the treatments, which will not only prevent *any* of them from working, but could also just lead to needless blocking of the pores.
So, apart from a healthy life-style, a SINGLE acne treament should ensure, as well as one can, that she has clear skin at any time.
Don't forget, NO make-up for the audition.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.
The secret is never to touch the spots
Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

I used something from Clean & Clear before picture day last year. It worked really good. I had a little bit of acne and the next day it was barely visible. It covered up really easily. It was called Clean & Clear Advantage Spot Treatment. I got it at Walgreens and it was like $7.00.

AcneFree is very cheap and you can buy it at most stores like Target and Walgreens. It's for every skin type and starts working the next day. Most people get clear skin in three days. I've tried it and it really does work. You just have to follow the directions and it'll turn out great.

removing them in 3 days is almost impossible but try the following
- Use Neutrogena oil-free range which includes oil-free facial wash, oil-free mosturiser and daily facial scrub
- The facial wash and mosturiser control production oil on the face and removes acne coz they both salicylic acid.
- The daily scrub removes the top layer of dead skin which also contains scars and black-heads. This gives room for a smooth and clear skin. It prevents further breakouts
- Blot your skin with blotting papers to absorb excess oil on your face any time your face gets shiny.
- Use oil-free and scent-free make up to prevent breakout of acne
Avoid sugary and fatty food and drink more water. Also eat fresh fruits and vege

Have you ever seen the commercial for Clearasil Ultra? Well their motto is "Clearer skin in 3 days. Gaurenteed." I think that it fits your problem quite well. I have not tried clearasil so i am not sure, but it is gaurenteed to work! Also try tooth paste. It works wonders. Hope i helped and tell her good luck at her audition! I hope she gets the part. -Audrina

Tell her to squeeze LOTS of lime juice on her face. It will itch but thats when you know its working.
Clean&Clear Spot treatment [the one that works in 8 hours] actually does work so use that before you go to sleep then wash your face with Cetaphil in the morning.
When your face is Freshly washed - make a little toothpaste mask and then wash it 10 min. later.

make sure she washes her face every morning and at night, and when she feels like it need cleaning ( probably by lunchtime) and use a good face wash like i use acne free but neutrogena works too. then make sure she is eating healthy and getting lots of sleep. and for the big pimples get spot treatment medicine, like medicine you put right on the pimple. that should do the trick. good luck!
