No respectable breeder would sell anyone the eggs. You should just start out with a young bird--it will become attached to you if that's what you are looking for.

You probably shouldn't start with an egg. Find a breeder and get a very young bird, with plenty of instruction. Hand feeding can be very difficult and is very time consuming. I got my bird when she was a few weeks old and she had to be fed 4 times a day. Good luck!

Parakeets are extremely difficult to hand-feed when theyre that young. They really need the support of the mother, as well as the beneficial bacteria the mother has to offer, and for this reason, no one sells parakeet eggs. However, you can get quail, pheasant, peacock, turkey, and many other types of eggs at many online stores.
