i always thought it be a great idea to become an actor but i have no experience. im about to go into highschool and would it help if i joined the drama class or anything that has to do with that. then when im in college is that to late to start looking for auditions and stuff like ?
and do people have a good chance becoming and actor even though they are starting late?
oh and is there any way i can stop being shy i know you cant have that if your an actor

There are people out there now making a lot of $$ doing plays & movies & tv & etc. who can't act.
Go ahead and get started, though. Even if you don't take a class in high school, try out for the plays - you just might be surprised!

It seems like at least 10 people ask this same question every day. 1. Yes, if you have no experience, by all means, get involved in your theater. But most importantly, GET in SOME PLAYS. You will need the experience for later. 2. Yes, college is too late if you want to be a professional actor/actress. What you need to do is find the nearest community theater, find out when the next play auditions will be, and audition for it. Be in as many community theater plays as you can- theater is the best place to start for an aspiring actor. and 3. No, if you choose to wait until you are in college to start, forget about being an actor. Start now.

It is never too late.
As for shyness, you are confusing you, the actor, with the character. You may be shy but when you are portraying your character, you must adopt the characteristics of that person as your outer appearance. After a while, the difference between outer and inner will disappear and you will suddenly realize that you cannot find that shy person anywhere. Go for it.
