When you become a Christian, you are placed in a the Body of Christ with other believers. Going to church doesn 't make you a christian but the purpose of church is for educational and fellowship purposes. Just because as one person put it may not need pastorial inspiration, is not a reason NOT to go to church. You go to church not just for yourself but for other Christians as support, as a witness, for worship and praise. God loves it when we fellowship together, because we then get to tell each other about the goodness of God and what he has done for us. It keeps us lifted and encouraged to help non-believers find everlasting life in Christ. When you become a Christian you are no longer alone, you in a body with other believers. God wants you to fellowship with other believers.

But no going to church doesn't make you a Christian but I would be less inclined to listen to someone who never attends church try to tell me about scripture in the bible. Sometimes you need a different interpretation than your own and you can get that from other believers at church who can help you.

You are right! Exactly what most of us Christians been trying to tell the World. Most people don't want to come to Church only because they think that we think the way to be a Christian is to be in Church. {Nope} Wrong....... What we are trying to tell the World is that it is important to go to Church if you are able to. Lets say you are not 90 years old on a ventilator then you should come. No were not saying that is the only way to get Christ in your heart. Or even to pray. But doing Worship at a Church is good, hearing the sermon from your pastor {you need it} fellowship is extravagant to Christian life. Communion is really important whenever you have it at your Church. baptism is important. All these essential's. And also all the other Church activities that go on in a Church during the year and if your Church don't have much find a different Church.

U just Did!!! Faith Alone in Christ Alone, Makes one a Christian. Not "Good Works, Giving $$$,or Doing what the Preacher Says", for "Our Works are as Wood, Hay & Stubble, that when Tested by Fire, are Consumed" says I Cor.3:12-13 OR "Like Filthy Rags" (Menstrual Rags) says Isiah 64:6. John

One way to explain your belief would be to say that "church" is not a building, or even an organization. "Church" is simply the community of believers. The New Testament was written in Greek and used the term "ekklesia", which means "those who are called". So, if you feel called to have faith in God, then you could say that you are part of his church. Church is not a place. It is a way of life. Church is wherever you are ("If two or three of you gather in my name, there also am I").

we are saved by faith, not works....

some people need the advice of a pastor..that is fine...
others do not.....

it is up to each person to follow their faith in the way God leads them.....

if a person chooses not to attend church, it might mean that he has outgrown the need for pastoral inspiration...maybe he has a strong relationship with God already...and the holy spirit teaches him....church may be ok for fellowship...but many times, the environment adds nothing spiritual to a person's life...

You're right about this statement.
Pulling into a garage doesn't make me a mechanic either, but if I hang around long enough,I'm bound to get a little oil on me.
