I am getting my 1 year old english bulldog/pug mix neutered on Aug. 10th. Could someone please explain how it works and what I could expect? Thank you in advance!

Good for you for getting your dog neutered. Thanks from all the homeless dogs across the world.
Your dog may be sore for a day or two, you will probably need to keep an eye on the incision to watch for infection. There isn't much else to it.

They put the dog under anesthesia, and remove both testicles. End of story. Sometimes there is swelling, but most neuters recover quickly and uneventfully. The incision does not go into the abdominal cavity (unless the testicle(s) are retained) so there is no worry like some people have about the "intestines coming out".....which is not a valid concern anyway.

Neutering is not very invasive and the dogs recover very quickly. In a day or two, he'll be pretty much back to normal, other than maybe some swelling or soreness.
Just make sure he doesn't chew or lick the area.

When my dog was neutered...he was very grouchy and always wanted to be by himself....I don't how your dog is, but when I tryed to pick up my dog...it growled and nipped me....their so sensitive after it done, so if and when you try to pick him up and pet him...just be very careful...my dog felt normal in about 2 days...
