I'm making a turkey dish tonight for dinner; I'd like to know how to steam two heads of broccoli in the microwave. Would it take very long (i.e. 10-15 min. or so)?

5 minutes on HIGH should do it, just make sure you add some water as well or the broccoli will burn.

How to Cook a Sweet Potato in the Microwave Step1 Scrub sweet potato with a vegetable brush and water. Step2 Use a fork or small knife to poke holes in the sweet potato. Step3 Place the sweet potato in the microwave and use the baked potato setting. However, the sweet potato will cook slightly faster than the regular baked potato. Try setting the microwave for 1 minute intervals and test for doneness by pushing a fork into the sweet potato. If it is soft in the middle, the sweet potato is cooked. Step4 Allow to cool for a minute or so and then remove from the microwave. Use a knife to cut the sweet potato open lengthwise. Be careful it will be steamy hot. Now add butter. If you would like a sweeter treat, sprinkle on a bit of dark brown sugar and a few miniature marshmallows.

start off with 30 seconds and see if its warm enough then another 30 seconds.
FYI: 10-15 minutes is way too long!
