For a beginner interested in wine, I'd suggest white wines.
Sweet - Muscat Cannelli (or any Muscat grape wine), Ice Wines, Sauternes.

Other white wines: Reislings, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc.

For hard liquor... I don't know if I have recommendations.

It is hard to say what kind of liquor to start off on because many different people have many different tastes. Of course, you don't want the heavy stuff straight but stay away from the mixers as well. Wine is a very acquired taste so watch out on that one, but it is a very relaxing liquor that is great with any nice meal and for whenever you wish to take a moment to yourself and chill. A wine cooler might be ok too if the taste of wine is too strong. Beer is ok, but it is also an acquired taste. As for me when I want to just relax, I steer clear of the beer.

It is really a matter of personal taste. If you like fruit juices, try mixing in some vodka. If you are a cola person, rum is a good choice.

Give wine a try- you can get a decent bottle for under $10 (ie Yellow Tail). There are alot of considerations that you need to make when you do get a bottle of wine. Region, color (white or red), grape type used to make it, etc are things you need to think about before getting a bottle. You may find that you like Australian wine better than other regions or that you enjoy red over white, etc.

Port (a fortified wine that is thicker and sweeter) is another type of alcohol that is good to relax with. Sandemann's Ruby Port is around $15 for a bottle.

I am a tequila/scotch man myself, but I went through lots of different types of alcohol before getting there. For tequila, if you want to mix it get a good blanco or reposado. The highest end tequilas are anejos, which are meant to be sipped, not mixed with juices/sodas/etc. You might want to try other alcohol first seeing as anejo tequilas are generally more than $50/bottle. Same goes for scotch- it's good but go to the bar and order one on the rocks (try Glenfiddich or Glenlivet, 12yr or older).

The answer should be dont drink at all. I'm a 17 year old guy, and I've drank plenty of times. First drank at age 13. I use to be like you and drink alone in my room, your going to kill your liver, if you have to drink anything make it a beer. And not every day, more like every 2 weeks. Your a teenager, I have experience and every teen drinks. I'm not saying you shouldn't but don't everyday, you'll turn into an alchohalic where you can go without it.

I don't like wine at all; it tastes bitter, but some people like it so try a sip to see if it's good.

My suggestion would be to try Smirnoff Ice; it tastes good and it's very mild in the alcoholic content.

Still, remember to NOT drink and drive.

Beginners usually prefer cocktails to beer or wine. I can picture you with a nice, cold Margarita. Or, perhaps a Baileys over ice. If you like coffee, just add a little Kahlua or Baileys for a nice pick-me-up and put-me-down.

Wine is good. I like mixing vodka with things like cranberry juice and sprite. You can control how much liquor goes in there so you can keep from getting to drunk on it if you want to.

Tequila (like as part of a margarita) is very *easy* to drink, but it gets you drunk fast!

Try an Ameretto Stone Sour, Vodka Tonic, or Rum and Coke. And don't make them strong. You want to enjoy them.

I am not a wine lover, I much prefer coolers.
Smirnoff Ice coolers are good. Segrams has some good ones as well.
