wow someone above me seems to have a problem !!!
it`s pretty obvious that Jesus couldn`t have been white blue eyed with fair hair .Like others have said he would have the characteristics of people indigenous to that region
the people who are saying he was a Jew and assuming that he would look like the people who live in Israel now are not accounting for the fact that the Jews there now originated from Europe and have only inhabited the region for about 60 years
personally i think it shows a complete lack of respect , if its the person and not his appearance that matters then the church should show him as he was and call him by his real name and not one that they find more acceptable .

Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard. ~ Leviticus 19:27
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. ~ Matthew 5:17 (Jesus Christ)
If Christ came to fulfill the law then he would have adhered to the law in Leviticus and thus would not have cut the hair at the sides of his head or clip off the edges of the beard.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. ~ Isaiah 53:2
The scripture above is prophesying about Christ. So what ever Christ looked like as a man he was not beautiful or desirable in appearance.
God purposely didn't reveal Jesus' full appearance in scripture so that it would not cause conflict between races and peoples appearances. God is love not vanity.

All Christians do not portray Jesus as a Caucasian. Mostly, it's the Christians that are Caucasians that do this. I have seen Mary portrayed as a beautiful Asian young woman and Jesus portrayed as having brown skin.
The truth is that Jesus probably had olive colored skin, black hair and brown eyes. His name was not Jesus, it was Yashua. Most people are ethnocentric and that is why European Christians portrayed Jesus with fair skin and blond hair.
The truth is that it doesn't matter what Jesus looked like; it's what he said and did that is important.

by way of fact it would offend white people and europeans in the event that they portrayed Jesus the way he would have truly regarded that's center eastern. He would have regarded plenty extra like Iranians and Palestinians of immediately with long hair. If he confirmed up interior the U. S. looking like the midsection eastern guy he replaced into in 33 BC immediately and suggested he replaced into Jesus they might shoot him as a terrorist and then what would all of the " actual Christians do as quickly as they discovered they shot their very own savior"? actual it would be funnier then hell if it wasn't so unhappy, Christians circulate returned to the oldest artwork you will discover on Jesus and notice how plenty he has lightened up over the years. He even has blonde hair now! communicate approximately being image shopped! Beyonce would be proud!

This is asked often. Usually that is an artists conception of Jesus. For example the Scandinavians will portray him many times as a blonde with blue eyes. But in reality He would have been of a race that would fit in with where He did His ministry. Probably middle eastern.

He is not always light skinned and Rosy cheeked. He is depicted in art by people and people make him according to their cultural norms. I saw a nativity that was as Japanese as you can get and it was beautiful. There is a shrine in Poland with a Black Madonna that is reported to have been done by St. Luke the apostle using the Virgin Mary as the model. In Africa there are black nativity scenes and in South America many nativities are in a summer or tropical setting even though Dec. 25 is in mid winter in the northern hemisphere. Our Lady of Fatima is in Portugal and she wears a head covering like Muslims wear. The name Fatima is the name of Mohammed's daughter and also the name of the town where our Lady of Fatima appeared. The spirit of a thing is what is important. Like people, it's not the color of the skin that matters.

He was Jewish, not Arabic, he was Christian not Muslim, he was tanned and his second name was not Mohamed, just in case, you Muslims are the one who should keep the facts straight and not to say that he was 'taken', nothing more uninformative than Mohamed 'visions'.
Our religion has other complementary books, the same as yours with the great advantage that they was written by Chronicles of the time, made by writers and not by priests, if you believe in your Hadiths we have the same right and even more to believe in those secular writes.
And the image of Jesus for you to know is quite accurate, maybe only and for your surprise, with short hair. And by the way, it looks like the Muslims are the ones obsessed with the Jesus image, maybe because he doesn't look like a murder paedophile.
Muslim sources are always poisoned, confused, partial and with no relation with reality.

Because religious people use stereotypes - ie I am Christian, so I am better than you; only men can be priests; gays cannot marry; white is better than black. Religion causes most of the problems in the world, no one has equality when religion gets involved - and people who attend church every Sunday are often the most two-faced in my opinion.

wow! you can tell the religion of an artist just by looking at his/her artwork? that's a cool talent to have...when you're working on a generalization, especially when it's a false one-fact is, we Christians know that Christ was from the middle east and we know how people from that part of the world look. Christ's physical appearance doesn't really matter to us-they're just paintings

jesus was a semite, same as the other jews, and the arabs in the area. thus the human jesus would have the same characteristics as those born in that area, the olive colored skin, dark hair, etc.
