I really am confused by this... if Christianity is a monotheistic religion, then why do they worship Father, Son, and The Holy Spirit? If Jesus IS God, then why do they say he is the son of God? Which one is it? Does this boggle anyone else's mind??

There are different views on this topic.
Some people believe that God separated part of himself and sent it to earth to be Jesus, then later a separated another part and sent it to earth as the Holy Spirit, = the trinity.
Some people believe that God had a Son which would make Christianity a polytheism religion.

I believe that God, created Jesus to be a holy pure man of God, capable of only doing His will, the human God intended on having on the earth in the first place. The holy spirit is of God as well, but not a fully God and not fully separate. I see it like it is his blessing, even though it's called a 'he' in the bible.

Wow , if that didn't just confuse you more, I dont know what would..well heck, I gave it a shot. Peace & Blessings.

Jesus in His eternal state is the word of God.

Joh.1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

The creation:
Gen. 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

God = The most high living God of Israel.
said = The mind of God
let there be light = The words you hear = Jesus
and there was light = the Holy spirit = the working force of God.

The Word and the Holy Spirit are in subjection to the most high God of Israel and all three are one in heaven.

1Joh 5:7 For there are three that bear record IN HEAVEN, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

But there is only one true high God, the living God of Israel.

OK, look at it this way. Imagine a pie cut into 3 equal parts (kinda like a peace sign). The WHOLE pie is God. The 3 equal sections are the father, the son, and the holy spirit. Though each of the three persons is called God, each maintain a separate identify from the other two. Again, this is 3 persons in the Godhead and not 3 separate gods.

well i'm 14 years old and i know that i have found the true religion. i myself am a Jehovah't Witness and i believe there is only 1 God his name is Jehovah it says it in Psalms 83:18 and we don't believe in trinity because Jehovah is the Almighty God no one is higher than him or equal to him. Jesus as u said is God firstborn son and is NOT a GOD. he is the son of God. and the Holy Spirit is gods active force.
Well i hope i helped u.

It doesn't boggle enough people's minds. The Trinity is a complex metaphysical model that was built on centuries of philosophical speculation and debate. A person can't instantly grasp the basic concept of Trinitarian theology any more than they can instantly grasp the basic concepts of Neoplatonism. When the doctrine of the Trinity was first codified in the 4th century, none of the Latin-speaking theologians had a clue what the Greek bishops were saying. Before the doctrine was universally accepted, Athanasius had to make a tour through the western European churches giving seminars on Hellenistic philosophy.

I saw one attempt to answer this sort of question by saying a person can be a child-daughter to her mother, a wife to her husband and a mother to her own child...but, these are to different people JC, God & Holy Spirit are one and the same (supposedly) to each person-all at the same time
also, they believe Satan is powerful enough to tempt JC making Satan an equal, JC, sometime in the NT says, 'God only is good, not me'.
The Catholics sometimes worship Mary (the mother) and, if you study the Bible at all, you'll find that JC and OT God are not at all the same
They want to, they think they do, but they do not.

we believe in the One, true God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Our minds can't grasp God's Triune nature, but we accept it by faith. God The Father has eternally "generated" God the Son. God The Son is eternally "begotten" (come forth) from the God The Father and God The Holy Spirit has eternally proceeded from both the Father and the Son. They are three seperate eternal beings that make up a single essence/nature. God bless.

Anyone who can worship a trinity and insist that his religion is a monotheism can believe anything... just give him time to rationalize it.
— Robert A. Heinlein

To be fair, they only stole the idea from earlier religions - in much the same way most of Christianity's teachings have been co-opted/copied/borrowed from earlier religions...

We have a hieroglyphical inscription in the British Museum as early as the reign of Sevechus of the eighth century before the Christian era, showing that the doctrine of Trinity in Unity already formed part of their religion and that ... the three gods only made one person.
— Samuel Sharp, Egyptologist; Egyptian Mythology, p. 14, quoted from John E. Remsberg, The Christ, p. 388

In addition, the "trinity" concept leaves out a crucial object of worship to God-worshipers: the bible

"Bibliolatry: A form of idolatry, resulting from the acceptance of the Bible as an error free rendition of divine inspiration. So much authority is assigned to the Bible that it, in effect, becomes the object of worship."
— Howard M. Teeple
