Just reading an article about a vote that went thru to allow the FDA to regulate not just the advertising of cigarettes, but also some of the toxic chemicals in them. I wonder if it's possible that it could be done so that smokers wouldn't be killing themselves as fast. What do you think?

Sure you can reduce some of the nicotine and other toxic substances, but, lets face it, when you displace oxygen with smoke you're damaging your lungs. What you smoke may make some difference but the smoke itself is damaging. Additionally, since you are decreasing the oxygen in your lungs you're also decreasing the oxygen in your blood stream which affects the health of your entire body. That's one of the main reasons why smoking contributes to heart and circulatory problems, reduction of oxygen content in the blood.
