in reality is not better, is useless if you are not a home made mom that all she is stay home and goes shopping. Is better in the sense that is more graphic and music oriented for proffesionals. So only get an apple if you don't go to school and don't have your own business. Vista may be crap, but is still cheaper than the top brand apple

Youve probably gone and opened a preverbial can of worms.

You will probably recieve many replies, few of which will make any sense.

If you used to using Windows then that probably means that youve got heaps of software which will not run on a MAC.

When you said you heard MACS were better, did you get any reasons why or is this just advice from people who dont like Windows.

Both systems are good, MACS tend to be slightly more expensive.

If you have the heaps of software compatible with Windows then I suggest you stay with Windows, as things could start getting quite costly if you go for a MAC and have to replace all of your software.

Many people knock it but I am running Vista Home Premium on my Desktop and Laptop and ive had no problems whatsoever.

Whatever you do DONT listen to the Vista sucks brigade, many of them havnt even tried it and dont know what the hell they are talking about and just basing their opinion on hearsay.

Whichever you decide on if software is not an issue then I am sure you will be happy either way.

Sorry it was long winded but I hope this has been helpful.

It really is dependant on what you are going to use the system for. If it is to be mainly graphics and music for the computer life cycle, go with the Apple product. If it is for some gaming, office production, and surfing, go with PC. Vista is new and is stable if you don't mess with it and update drivers to be compatible. It will do nothing but get better as rev's come out. It will be a learning experience for both the Apple product and the difference in Windows.

I use both and my suggestion is to stick with Windows if that's what you're used to.

If you buy an Apple, you'll have to buy Mac versions of all the Windows software you are used to using, if it's available. (Ever try buying Mac software in a Best-Buy?) Also, Mac programs are more expensive than their Windows counterparts.

Macs are easier to use and maintain, and viruses, trojans, malware and the like are virtually non-existent, but in my opinion, the price, availability and variety of Windows software make PCs a better choice for the average user.

I had an opportunity to use both Apple & Windows at the same time for about a year.My next purchase will be Apple. It is virtually bullet-proof to viruses and (I don't care what anyone says)it ROCKS! Faster, better, simpler.

PCs are cheaper to fiddle with, MACs U can only send for repair. I saw a "drop test" on a consumer prog where they dropped a PC & MAC from a 3rd storey balcony and tried to repair them. (HONESTLY) Both had cracked motherboards and "relatively minor" damage to operating. The PC was fixd with a handful of stuff from a comp shop and cheaply: the MAC was a writeoff in that it was impossible to get the bits to fix it from MAC. MAC just wanted to replace the whole thing or have it sent back to the factory ! Horrifically expensive.

Better to stick with pc and windows platform. More versatility and easier to obtain software and parts.
