Your mother will always love you in a way that nobody else can.
With that said, normal mothers "let go" of their grown kids. If there is a tug of war it is because the man won't cut the apron strings with his mom. It is very frustrating for the wife. Man needs to make sure that wife is the woman of the house and that he is providing for her and making decisions without his mom's help (or hindrance).
Mom's decisions regarding the house should be nil....she has had her own household to raise and now it is wife's turn.

Well being that my mother died 17 years ago...I would have to say my husband loves me more!
His mother is extremely possesive in a sick kind of way and has pushed me and my husbands brothers wife away with her evil nastiness, probably thinking it would make her sons more dependant on her but it had the opposite effect. One never wants to see her again and hasn't spoken to her for over 3 years and now my husband is getting very sick of her rubbish! Thank God!

It's really a shame that happens in some families. Love for mom should be different from love for spouse in that when you marry, you give yourself to your spouse. Mom will always be around and will always love you (I'm a mom and speaking from experience) but a person needs to put their spouse before their parent.
Just the way it goes.

One can never say a perfect answer for this question cause it varies from people to people. Some lucky people get love from both the females equally. But I personally know some mothers they r very mean and selfish, they love their son for their selfishness, but i do accept that till the marriage of a son, a mother loves her son full-heartedly.
So we can even tell like this in the early age of life a man get love from only his mother, later age he get love from wife in between he get love from both of them but he has to suffer for this love

this is very obvious in indian families.....but precisely both r right on their part as mother is the one u gave u life n u r life of ur wife ....but here u gotta be smart managing relationships with both generously......but mothers shud understand the female new to the family is cos of u only ......its u who have to decide how to manage relationships.....n there is no comparison between their love as both love unconditinally

Both equally and in their own unique ways. There can be no comparison. Any one who does not understand this truth of a relationship is too immature to have a spouse.

Both. One has to manage in such a way that neither is hurt. This comparison comes not to the man but to the ladies involved.
