Tea is a diuretic and a stimulant, so there will be a slight boost to your metabolism and a bit of fluid loss, but the effect is minor. DO NOT base a weight loss regime on it!

Tea before a work out can boost your energy and give you a better work out and many teas contain healthy components. Green tea is great and a lot of the really dark teas have decent caffeine kick as well as tasting really good.
