before i fell out big-time with my 'best-friend', she was like my identical twin
i'm quite a quirky individual and like to stand out; i hate looking similar to everyone else
i've had some quite dramatic changes to my hair
we both had long, brown hair
i decided to dye mine black and have a heavy, full fringe
2 weeks later my friend had done EXACTLY the same
i then had my hair cut into a bob and lightened
about a month later, she has her hair done VERY similarly
i have mine cropped and dyed black
.. a few days later, my 'twin' is back
since then, i have been growing my hair and have bleached it into a lovely light blonde colour (which she helped me to achieve) i was going to put purple in my fringe to stand out, but delayed it as to not damage my hair
her hair was still black
the next time i see her, not only has she bleached her hair to exactly the same colour as mine, but she also has a PURPLE FRINGE

she dresses identically to me
its driving me insane
i hate her
help!

The scariest thing about this question is that you are being serious.

YOUR style? How many millions of people are on this earth, and how many of them have hair like yours? Probably quite a few.

We are talking HAIR here. No one stole your identity...they copied your hair! Big deal! if anything, you should be flattered...someone liked your hair enough to wear the same style.

You think that you have some right to be an individual and that no one else has the right to look the same. Are you THAT shallow that your looks determine who you are? Is your outside appearance more important that the person you are inside? If so, you have far more problems that someone emulating your lid.

What is the importance of standing out? Do you realize that outside physical appearances only account for a small amount of what people think of you? Is looking different from anyone else going to give you fame, money and a good future? Nope, none of the above. How about this: Care less about standing out (you are not entitled to have anyone look at you), and care more about being a good, productive member of society. THATS what makes a difference in this world. And remember this: You outward appearance is only a reflection of the LIFESTYLE you have chosen to live that particular day--it is NOT "WHO YOU ARE." No one really cares about your lifestyle...why not be yourself....or do you really not know who you are?

She has purple fringe? Boo hoo! Did she help an elderly person across a street? Im pretty sure you didnt.

Wear a big floppy hat that covers all your hair and say you got a skin head....wear the hat whenever you'll be in the same place as her.....If she goes out and gets her head shaved, then the joke is on her cause you could then take off your hat to show your nice blonde hair with the purple fringe...something she doesn't have....
Then you tell her straight that you were not flattered that she copied you and suggest in future she develops her own style and identity.

First I think you should keep in mind that copying is the sincerest form of flattery
If that doesn't help then you can try to think of a new style that she wouldn't think of, and don't tell her about it.
I don't think you should go around changing your hair too much just so you aren't like her though, it seems a little drastic.
But if you find a style you like and want to change it there's nothing to stop her from copying you, you just have to live with it
And maybe pull it off better than she does.

This is tricky as people will tell you that you should be flattered that she copies you. However from personal experience......I DON'T GIVE A DAMN!!!
It is the most annoying thing in the world. You have to talk to her and tell her that she seems to follow anything you do. Say everything you have said above. Don't get mad, just tell her it is irritating you as you like to be unique.
Then you could suggest quirky things SHE could do. Makes you look like a good friend and you've got her off your ***!!!!! :) x

By caring about something with some substance. She will undoubtedly be as vacuous as you and be unable to do it.

On a serious note, it sounds like you are both pretty insecure. Why not try and make her feel better about herself. She might do the same for you. Remember, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

didn't anyone ever tell you that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? you can only bite the bullet and just tell yourself that this girl must think you are the bees knees to want to copy you so much. either that or talk to her and tell her how you are feeling, tell her that you have your own unique style and she should be finding hers instead of just copying you, maybe go through a few mags with her and help her choose what might suit her, good luck x x x

Without being too agressive tell her that although you are flattered, you find it a bit agravating when she copies you. She mustn't have much confidence in her own looks so why don't you offer to help her achieve a new look. You shouldn't hate your best friend, she obviously likes you an awful lot.

OH MY GOSH!!! That would be the most annoying thing in the world! Go tell her off, exactly (ok well maybe not EXACTLY)how you said it on here, tell her how she's driving you insane and to not copy her anymore, dont' be really rude about it, but jsut something to get her to stop copying you. If that doesn't work you could do something super ugly, to get her to stop, but I don't think I'd take that risk unless I was desperate. So just talk it out, and see how it goes. Hope I helped-Good luck!=D
I can't believe that, I thought that was something that only happenened on TV shows and stuff.

Well, first of all, you should be happy someone think you are that stylish! But still I see your problem. Next time you see her, ask her why she always dresses like you (casually, so it doesn't seem like you are being mean). Whatever she tells you, tell her she should try dressing like "this" or "that", because it would look good on her. She obviously respects your style expertise, so she would probably want to try what you say.

Good Luck!
