I am getting ready to print my invitations, and I am going to affix a bow at the top. My question is should I try and poke two holes at the top and tie the bow on, or should I pre-tie the bow and fix it on with a drop of glue?
My fear is that if I glue it, it may come off, but if I poke little holes, they may be uneven, or tear.

I actually just did a friends wedding programs. I used a specialty hole punch, you can get them at craft stores, usually in the scrapbooking section. I have a whole set with different symbols such as hearts, stars, etc. I used a punch that just had a very small hole, it came out beautifully.
I would suggest trying to find a hole punch, rather than glue it would look more elegant!
Good luck!

Absolutely get the specialty hole punches sold at Michale's or A.C. Moore. They have ones that are tiny, made especially for this purpose. As a second option, I have had great success using the glue dots the other person suggested. They hold big time. I used them for ribbon on a favor, and they worked wonderfully.

Buy a hole punch. You can buy ones in different shapes too, like hearts. This would insure the holes are even, don't tear the card, and the bow will stay on.

I would use a hole punch. Keep in mind that even though it is only a small amount of glue that you are using, it does add weight and may be jusy enough to require more postage. Have you thought about double sided tape? That may work better for you.

don't use glue b/c even if you use really good glue they could still fall off going through the mail. go to the craft store & buy a special hole punch. they make them in different sizes & shapes.

Buy a small heart shaped hole punch, I've seen them on Ebay, sticking things on means there is always a danger of them falling off.

i sewed (by hand) a heart on my invitation, using a small needle for the thread, then used the SMALLEST about of hot glue to put on a small bow. sewing took forever, but left very small holes.
