A friend told me about a luxury golf destination club he had heard of called The Markers Club. I have checked out their website and it sounds like a cool deal but I have a couple of questions before I make any decisions.

First, does anyone know the difference between a destination club and a time share? Is one better than the other or are they just different names for the same thing? Second, has anyone here had any experience with this company?

I figured this would be a good place to look for a few answers. Anything you could give me would help. Thanks!

I don't know what a destination club is, but timeshares are generally a bad investment. My parents have one, and it's not a great deal. You pay maintenance fees regardless of if you use it, and can often be blocked out of certain dates. Compare prices to simply getting a hotel room and paying green fees before committing to anything. The major advantage to timeshares is that is more apartment-like than a typical hotel room, so you can save money on your trip by cooking in your room and you have more space. If you really want to go to that specific place at that time of year, it can be a good deal too. I don't really think it's worth it though, in general.
