Why do you say it was an apple?

The whole thing is that if people read the bible it clearly states that god told Adam about the tree before Eve was even made!

15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."

18 The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."

19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field.
But for Adam [h] no suitable helper was found. 21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs [i] and closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib [j] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

So god never told Eve!!!

see... she was framed!

He never said it was an apple. Adam and Eve were forbidden to eat of the fruit from The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

God teaches us to glorify lairs and to hate truth tellers.
The first thing god did was lie to Adam when he said the tree of knowledge would kill him. So the very first thing god teaches his new creation is a lesson on how to lie and deceive.
God did not want man to have knowledge. God is a lier and was deceiving Adam.

The second point is that God did not want man to have eternal life as the gods [Elohim multiple gods] had. So god could have given us eternal life but did not and in fact kicked Adam and Eve out of the garden because he was afraid they would also eat of the tree of life.
Genesis 3:22-23
22Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of "Us", knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever "-- 23therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.…

The serpent told the truth to Eve that god lied to her and was keeping knowledge and eternal life to himself. So today we believe that lying and deceit is good and telling the truth is evil and we don't have eternal life because god did not want us to have it. Nice guy this god...

Eating the Fruit of the tree of knowledge, represents the development of self-awareness and discrimination.
This represents the loss the naive and innocent state of early infancy... paradise lost.
Then we have to go to school and get jobs and it all gets more difficult. We work on developing our identity and on 'becoming somebody'.
Spiritual practice can lead us back to that state of blissful Union, but now we can use our capacity to discriminate so we may appreciate that Spiritual connection in a conscious and mature way. Rather than in an infantile and self-centred way.

It wasn't an apple. The Bible clearly says it was the fruit of the tree of knowledge, and after Eve ate the fruit God denied all other people access to that tree since then. Try actually reading tha Bible instead of asking sexist questions and you will learn far more than you will here, but first you must want to acquire real knowledge instead of just wanting to insult women.

God talked with Adam.....Adam was to teach his wife which he did. She knew the rules not to eat from the tree..she even told the serpent that she was not even to touch it.
God tested their obedience....Eve was deceived but Adam chose to sin...neither one ever said they were sorry.
It was not an apple.....it was the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and bad.

To test her with temptation. Bit like my wife. Keep telling her not to go near next or other fashion shops, and off she goes. like a fly towards sh*t.
And to think, God created woman from the rib of man. We've been seriously short changed. Imagine what we'd have had for an arm or a leg!!!

"Apple" is not mentioned, only "fruit of the Tree of Knowledge" ; and YHWH told BOTH the man AND the woman not to eat the forbidden fruit ; furthermore, I think this is a (1 Corinthians 13 : 11) childish joke

I highly doubt God had a preference about an apple. Me thinks it's a male's way of dissing the female.

The woman always gets the blame in religion. A long time ago before Christianity man and woman were equals when it came to pagan rituals. Christianity deflamed woman and it had to start somewhere so they blamed it on eve.
