And here, all this time, I thought Bert was yellow. :-/
OK, just kidding...
(It's scary to think I'm as old as Sesame St.)
The missions of the two are not comparable. Both units are best at what they are trained to do.
I have to admit though, that being ex-Army, I tend to lean towards the green berets.
Edit: lol John T. I guess my TV's color wasn't so good. Or maybe that's why I got denied for flight school. :-))

There are no green berets or marine special forces. What you are calling green berets is the army special forces that wear green berets. All those elite groups are called special operations.
The difference between special forces and marine recon has too many differences. You have to be at least as smart as Macgyver just to even think about special forces. If you can't learn another language and culture, especially in 6 weeks, then you would wash out. Marine recon is tough physically, but not the physically toughest special operation.

You are correct on one thing. The Army Special Forces are all lot better than any other unit in the US military, because no one can do what the SF can. But you made a BIG mistake. First of all you call a "Green Beret", a Special Forces soldier. I don’t think they like to be called "green berets". Second BIG mistake is that there is no such thing as a Marine SF. SF stands for Special Forces and that is reserved for the Army SF. Third BIG mistake is that you misspelled beret. And finally what I have been correction for the longest time, Special Operational Forces are you Marine Force Recon, SEALs. PJs, etc... Special Forces is reserved exclusively and ONLY to the Army Special Forces, or as you call them "green berets"

Green Bert.....whose he a cheapo version of the Jolly Green Giant??? Are you 5??? I am 12 and I know a lot of stuff, without being a nerd, I am just naturally intelligent.
A Green Beret, or Army Special Forces is not better or worse than Marine Force Recon.
They have different jobs, mate.
Green Bert, Green Beray....Beret isn't that hard to spell... if you are having trouble...say Special Forces ;)
An Army Special Forces Operator, trains local militia, and does other direct action missions. They have a stereotype of being intelligent.
Force Recon are more of a maritime commando unit, a bit short of a Navy SEAL (In my opinion) focusing on direct action.

Bert (from Sesame Street) was tan as I recall.
A green beret is a hat.
And the Marines don't have SF, they have Force Recon and newer names for their special operations personnel.
Special Forces are Army and wear the green beret noted above. There is no Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard or Marine Special Forces. Each Special Operations unit has a specific mission.
