My dad thinks this is to much, but he has wanted a macaw for his entire life. This is such a good deal he just doesn't realize it.

Do you think he can find one cheaper for the bird and the cage, or is this a 1nce in a life time deal

That's pretty good, especially if you're getting the cage. It isn't uncommon for a Macaw to cost $1000+, and a good cage is usually $400+. Of course, this all depends on what kind of macaw it is too. If its a blue and gold macaw, or a scarlet macaw, that's probably a pretty good deal for bird and cage. If its a mini macaw, its a bad deal. But if it is a hyacinth macaw, that would be a fantastic deal, but I don't think anyone would sell a hyacinth macaw for $1400. So just make sure you know what kind of macaw it is..

Grab it !!
That's a good deal as long as the cage is in good shape and the bird is healthy. Make sure that the cage is a Parrot cage, no matter how large it is though. A parrot cage will have extra thick bars, because a Parrot or macaw can bite right through the smaller bars of a cockatiel cage !

If the bird is healthy and well socialized it is a steal.. You would pay about that or more from a breeder or a pet store just for the bird.. And we know how expensive the cages can get.. if it is a kings cage your talking roughly about 1300.00 give or take a few bucks... Tell your Dad that if he has wanted a macaw his whole life here is a golden opportunity to have one.. Please read up on the care of them so you are prepared ok and good luck with him/her...

It's a GREAT deal if the bird has been around many people and not attached to one sex.
Some cages alone can cost 800-900 dollars.
If the bird is only four yr old and they can live to be over 100, I think your dad should "take the deal".

Sounds like a great price!!! The cage alone should cost $800 & with bowls & toys should cost almost $1,000! Macaws range from $500-$700 so I say your getting a good deal!!!

Being incorrect is many times a discovering journey (or it may be). regularly, you are able to learn extra via being incorrect than you would be from being proper. unusual how maximum religions seem to think of that existence isn't a discovering journey and that some sort of eternal life is the "value" for being proper or incorrect.
