I have an Arizona license which doesn't expire for 50 years and I need to get a Florida license to prove that I'm in state now (I already talked to the DMV and they said that I needed to get an actual new license issued from Florida) but when it expires in 4 years (I think) and I have since moved out of the state then will my old one go back into effect? Will I also have to change my insurance and the registration on the car which are all from Arizona, because I want to do the least amount possible and legal to prove that I am in state for tuition purposes for the next year. Also, will they take my old license and if so is there anyway around this?

I talked with the lady at the registrars office and she said I would have to change everything, however, it says in the state guidelines you can have a voter registration and proof of living here with bills and rent. So I'm going to try that later this week. But thanks for everyone's help. And I was rounding on the 50 years thing, I think there's only 43 left.

Yes, you will have to change everything (I did). The one thing you may be able to do to get around some of this is to get a Florida state ID instead of a license.

If your license expires in 50 years, you are 15 years old. (they expire at age 65) If you are staying in Florida for 4 years, then you need to switch to Florida license and plates and insurance. This also applies if you work there. If you move back to Arizona, you should be able to transfer the license there and get a new one with no test. Florida licenses last 4 years the first time and 6 years after that if you have no violations.

If you are attending school, you should be able to keep your Arizona plates & licence as you haven't taken up permanent residence in Florida. But if you change, you have to change everything, as Florida requres that insurance be through a Florida broker.
