I had this beautiful blonde hair when I was a kid and as I got older it darkened up. Since you probably had the same thing happen to you the same stuff should work for your hair as does for mine. First off, I don't recommend trying to go super light at home. It looks really fake anyway and there is too much that can go wrong. If you just want your hair back to the color you had when you were younger you should be able to do it at home. It might help to have a friend help since you really can't see the back. Since you have a dark blonde hair now go for a light or medium blonde. Stay away from the ultra light blonde colors. They can get really brassy since it is more than a couple of shades lighter than your natural color. Go for a neutral or ash based color not a golden blonde which can turn out too yellowish or brassy. If you have thick hair or it is longer than your shoulders get more than one bottle of color so you don't run out. After that just follow the directions. Some places even have a number you can call if you have questions. I know clairol has a toll free number, but I'm sure a lot of the other ones do to.

Lemon juice really does work and yes you can put it in a spray bottle or just soak your hair down with it and sit in the sun - not sure about the peroxide but I know that it is an ingredient in many hair color products so that would most likely work too...my daughter has dirty blonde hair and gets great highlights in the summer just from using the pool and letting her hair dry in the sun... (don't forget the sunblock on the rest of youself while sitting out) I cannot guarantee you will get an all-over even color though.... you may just lighten it all but since it sounds like you have various shades of blonde to brown allready it will just lighten accordingly which is a cool look too - so go for it - have fun and it will always grow out!!! (which is something to remind your parents too)

I've used a product called Sun In and it worked great. I don't know what's in it, but it doesn't dry out your hair and just lightens it gradually. It really does look like the sun did it. Have a bit of patience though, it takes a while for it to build up to really light. Use it every day and go out in the sun. In about 3 weeks, it should be quite a bit lighter.

Your best bet, would be to actually purchase hair color from you local store. They are surprisingly easy to use, follow directions. Use a pale blonde, or a platinum, those are my suggestions, and yes I graduated from beautician school. If you cannot afford a salon color or prefer not to go to a salon, this is the only alternative I would safely suggest.

Lemon will not help, not to an extent that people would really notice anyway. Errrm, maybe go to a chemist and ask, or even ask at the hairdressers what there opinion is on home highlighting.

Swim in alot of clorine and go to the pool almost everyday and swim alot underwater. In winter you can go to YMCA and swim indoors. for money though.
Hope this helps, bye!
Alot of people tell me to use lemon juice, and it never worked, Do you know what it did instead, It made my hair darker! DONT USE LEMONS!
