It appears to me as if it is there to cover up the Original Kingdom gospel with something else.
That may sound strange, but a free online book explains it with a fun story about a couple of kids seeking a treasure.
The book is about the Kingdom Gospel... nothing at all like the Pauline gospel we hear these days.

I am sorry to tell that some of your answers are wrong.
But to real purpose of Christianity is salvation.
Matthew28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The way I see it, the purpose of the Christian religion is to bring us to Christ that we might take advantage of His Atonement to make us clean from sin so we can return to live with God and better ourselves. The ultimate purpose of everything is to bring us to perfection so we can be just like our Heavenly Father.

To make more christians. By breeding or conversion, the christian religion's basic goal is to grow until everyone is a christian. It's a global version of American Idol. Whoever gets the most votes wins.
