It doesn't matter what I feed my dogs. I have a poop eater. Her name is Sophie. She cleans the yard for me.
Sorry folks. It's been a long day and I had to say it.
(It was a joke people)

Not from personal experience but from what I've heard the plates are enormous and, being filled with food, the portions must be, too. All of which must contribute to waste, not to mention the increasing size of the consumers. Having an old fashioned hearty appetite is only acceptable if the energy is going to be used up. The modern interpretation of a hearty appetite should be to eat healthily for the benefit of said heart. There should be no embarrassment or shame in sharing a plate of food or using a doggy bag. If it's paid for, eat it or take it.

Nutro Large Breed dog food works great! I've been using it for almost 3 years.

You don't need a large breed dog food. That's just a marketing gimick. You feed different amounts based on size, but they don't require a "large breed" formula.
Check out some foods on http://dogfoodanalysis.com for a breakdown
My faves are Fromm, Merrick, Wellness, Solid Gold and Canidae.
Though I have acutally transitioned to a raw diet, but if you're going to feed raw do a lot of research first. Yahoo has a great raw feeding group with great information. The Book RAW DOG FOOD by Corina Beth McDonald is a wonderful resource. Also check out http://rawmeatybones.com/ . I truely believe raw is the best, but it takes commitment and research. The poos are wonderful and turn to dust in a matter of days and wash away in the rain.

I've had much success with Innova EVO - it's expensive, but more of it is absorbed in my dog's body (she wolfs it down, by the way) and her poops don't smell as bad. She doesn't poop all the time either. If you aren't going to go to a raw diet, I recommend EVO.

I know that nutro helps- they have more meat and less meal in their foods. But for my Boxer I had to change to Royal Canin because she still had trouble digesting. Now that she has been on that- she does really well! They don't just sell food for boxers either. I know they have some for almost all breeds and sizes. Plus it is specially formulated for your type of dog.
The food normally runs me about 40 dollars for a 35 pound bag of dog food. But it's worth every penny!

Anything without filler (such as corn) will significantly cut poop.
Filler just runs through the system and gets deposited in your yard.
My dog is in transition between Canidae and homemade, both are excellent.

Try a raw food diet. They will be able to absorb more of the nutirents since there will be no preservatives. Therefore they should produce less waste. But I do not see why you would want your dog to go to the bathroom less.

Least amount of poop is caused by the least amount of indigestible stuff being ingested. This can be achieved by feeding a raw prey model diet consisting of raw meat, bones and organs.
