Go to my home town, Dulverton, mentioned in Lorna Doone., probably stay at The Lamb, and go visit Tarr Stepps on Exmoor along with Winsford Hill, the highest point in the area, then drop down to the lovely seaside resort of Minehead, you will love it!!! God I wish I was back there!!!

Paignton has a nice zoo. Cheddar has some wonderful caves and then there is wookey hole. Then you could visit Glastonbury- The chalice well for some magic and tranquility, or the Tor or the Castle. I am from the Southwest so i can't sing its praises loud enough but there are hundreds of lovely places- i am not sure there's much in Exeter- but there are lots of lovely places surrounding it. Have a nice time and if you see my kids tell them hi from me.

Bath - really pretty city
Bristol - Can be pretty fun. There is a lot to do.
Woolacombe and/or Putsborough beach. (same stretch)Hard to get to without a car though.
And Newquay is great. Full of students throughout the summer though. So ring ahead..
And errr... there are quite a few awesome beaches throughout Devon and Cornwall.
Bournemouth & Poole (different towns but pretty much the same place) is maybe worth a visit. Not in the height of summer though - PACKED with tourists...
Explore =)

If you like history Visit the Isle of Perbeck (Swanage) Corfe Castle is spectacular and a must see.
