im selling some of my old clothes (band and tour tshirts) my parents brought about 1/4 of these clothes ive worked out i will be making around £30-£40 should i give my parents the money or keep it myself

i'd give your parents a 1/4 of the money...they gave you 1/4 of the clothes you give them 1/4 of the cash

If you're selling them to help out your ailing, destitute, parents, by all means, give it to them! If not, keep the cash! Have they asked to to give up the earnings? No, right? So just keep the money, period!

Who needs the money more, should answer the question.
Keep it, if you are a poor college student.
Give it back, if they are poor retirees.
Altho some parents won't except money from their kids.

Instead of giving them money because they will probably tell you to keep it get them a nice gift certificate for their favorite restaurant.

you should keep the money. they gave those things to you, so they are yours. also it's not things that are hugely sentimental that they will take offence at. probably the money would make more of a difference to you than to them. so enjoy it. or give them 1/4th of it.
