Hi there. I am 5'3" and would starve on what you eat. I eat the heaviest meal in the middle of the day, also drink water all day long in small amounts keeping me fuller. Recovering from cancer has taught me to be careful about fad dieting. Family health doesn't always get everyone, that depends on you. Exercising is far better than starving, and you feel less hungry too! You will gain muscle which burns extra fat, for free.
Eat small meals every three hours to keep energy up and hunger down, also will keep blood sugar from bottoming out. You need more protein at your age to support you heart, lungs, muscles. Anemia will rob your health fast if you don't get enough and taking iron isn't good enough. chicken, real fish (not canned/ processed), and small amounts of beef and some vegies or fruit with every meal will go far. I eat fruit with meat to get enzymes working faster to digest it more thoroughly. I weigh 125 and wear a size 5. I can shop at the kids department. LOL

You're doing brilliantly. Make sure you are getting some calcium and some fats in your diet (ie. milk, cheese, yogurts, spread). Don't forget to have the occasional treat as you don't want to stop all the pleasures in life! Make sure you vary your diet though too and not eat the same thing every day and also that you are having enough food. Red meat once a week is good for protein and iron. If you are really concerned see your doctor for some nutrition advice. Well done to you I wish I was that strict!

Sounds pretty good - still include foods high in calcium - yogurts, small amounts of cheese, skimmed/semi skimmed milk - all the evidence points to calcium helping in weight loss.
What you should aim for is a balanced diet - all the info you need is below - it's good sense.
You are at the right age to start making a habit of eating healthily - but don't be too rigid, just sensible - live a little too!

Most important thing you can do is this:
1-eat every 2-3 hours (1-200 cal)--6 meals a day--this speeds up your metabolism and keeps it moving. If you don't do this, your metabolism shuts down and stores fat.
2-eat only protein and vegetables.......get your fiber from nuts. Do NOT have any fruit-it will take you out of ketosis (highest state of fat burning).....Have NO bread, pasta, carbs.......again, your only carbs should be from nuts and veggies.
3--limit your dairy. Only cottage cheese and goats milk.
4--drink a minimum of 8 8 oz. glasses of water a day
5--limit caffeine--caffeine destabilized your blood sugars and causes you to eat.
6-- get to sleep no later than 10pm....your body rebuild itself between the hours of 10pm-6am........sleeping 11-7 isn't the same.
7--don't eat after a certain time of day.......if you are hundry, have herbal tea or something light-1oo calories max.
8--cook in olive oil and make sure you don't over do on fats.
9--move your body-walk, exercise......do a minimum of 30 min. every day.
10--stay away from stress......stress releases a chemical that makes your body store fat.
My doctor taught me all of these things and I've lost 30 pounds in 2 months.
Good luck.
PS you can have cheese 2 times a week but only 1 oz. If you MUST have cheese.........do parm.

I believe that this is an African (Africa) proverb, think about it like this.. we learned early on that playing with matches is dangerous (You'll get burned), but we did not really know what burned was.. how could we we had not been burned yet... as time passed the oppertunity to Learn by consequences (experience), we touched that whic was hot, and got warmed/burned, little knowledge is dangerous because we could not as yet understand the real meaning.. this can be equated to a lesson today a bird in the hand is better than a bird in the bush

Add a little protein at lunch and some veggies at dinner. Also, make sure you get some calcium - snack on a lowfat yogurt or lowfat cheese. Ideally, you should eat a little something every 3 hours that you are awake so you don't get too hungry and overeat, and that your metabolism and blood sugar stay steady.

It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong at all - well done!!Maybe have the brown bread that has seeds in it, maybe have a couple of nights having mostly steamed/boiled veg for dinner and you're totally onto a winner.Brocolli, garlic, root ginger, red pepper are all "superfoods", try to include them as much as poss.I'm a vegetarian myself so I have the same worries.I tend to just try to eat things with as many different colours as possible.Good luck!

the best way of dieting is to eat healthy. Choose foods that will give u the correct carbohydrate, protein, vitamins etc that your body requires. The best way of dieting is to eat low fat foods, watch the sugar content and check yoghurts etc as some products are still low ft but high in sugars which defeats the object. Avoid pastries and cut down on sweet items ie chocolate. I am diabetic and i usually have something like this
breakfast - weetabix/porridge/shredded wheat all are low fat and contain correct measures of certain products the body requires. i sometimes have sugar free sunny d that helps with the vitamins. lunch - brown bread, sunflower marg, low fat crisps and yoghurt.
tea - potatoes , 3 veg and meat of any choice.
for snacks eat portions of fruit. The best diet to follow is low fat substituted with the glycaemic index. Items like pasta, and rice are good as they help to keep blood sugars steady and are more filling so helps to avoid hunger attacks. Apples and yoghurts are also good as they work in a similar way and help with vitamins and calcium. Use semi skimmed milk and watch caffeine intake. grilled meats like fish and chicken are ideal and pulses if making soups as they help bulk the product. You can buy low fat recipe books for as little as £2
and can adapt many recipes. drink plenty of water especially if you are eating lots of fibre, use low fat margarine, edam and, cottage cheese are good sources of calcium. Adapt abasic information to suit your lifestyle but remeber little and often is best. I hope this helps you somewhat. ps i am 5ft 7 and have never had problems with obesity even though i take insulin.

The only thing that I can see wrong with your diet is you seem to eat no dairy....unless you are intolerant, I would suggest you get some milk, cheese, yogurt etc into your daily foods.
