are you supposed to use more eggs than usual? for making normal ones, i use 2 eggs whole but with only the whites, it seems like a lot less. should i use 3 or 4?

lol i just heard theyre healthier to eat so i wanted to try it out. i used 3 eggs & it didnt make a very large omelette. in the future (but i dont think ill do it again since the yolk is most of the flavor) i would probably use 4 or 5 eggs. i think that would suffice. but like i said, the yolk is great so im gonna stick to regular omelettes but im glad i tried it anyway. thanks everybody!

If I was making an egg white omelette I would still use 2, but I now hate to throw away the yolks and I love them,so I buy something like Egg Beaters, or BetterN Eggs or any of the many more for sale in the supermarket. They are yellow but are made only from the whites. They come in the frozen food section, mine are near the frozen pancakes and waffles and these can be defrosted in the fridge or they come in the refrig section near the eggs. I have tried all brands and they all seem about the same . I am presently using a generic brand & I like those just fine. I bake with then, use them in meatloaf and anything else that calls for eggs. I do keep a doz. eggs for when family wants a fried egg.

Why on earth would you want to do this??

The only flavour there is in an egg comes from the yolk. I don't know what you are cooking there but an omelette it is not.

yes. when you remove the yolk you are taking alot of food out of the egg so you will need more eggs to make a regular egg white omlet

Hi when I make egg white omelets for clients I use 4 egg whites, & that seems to be the right size portion.

yes because the yolk adds a lot more to the egg than just the white itself!!!

use however many you want to eat. Personally, I think eating an egg white omelette is like drinking decaf coffee.....what's the point?

I usually use 3 eggs but that really depends on how much you want to make.

Are you separating the eggs or buying whites only?
Basically, it's a matter of volume, so use a little more.
