Well.. I have been putting A&D on it and it's doing great except when I sleep.. I can't seem to stay on my side or stomahe and when I woke up the other morning my shirt was stuck to it.. Yup..it freakin hurt like helllll....So the next night I slept without a shirt and woke up stuck to the sheets... Had to pour warm water on it to get unstuck..
I was told once the inital bandage is off..don't wrap it again, so how do I solve this poblem?? Is it ok to wrap it in a nonstick bandage overnight??

Interesting... I ask for advice and get slammed.. Actually, it's a tattoo that represents my childhood..(abuse etc.) and life with my fiance (love happiness and healing) So..no it's not a tramp stamp, no I don't drink or hang out in bars.. and if you all want to be jerks I will report each and everyone of you..
If you don't like my question or my tattoo don't answer my question..

Sorry you had to read all those jerks comments. Don’t pay attention to them.
You should use any aftercare tattoo lotion on your new tattoo for about a week. Usually is recommended to apply it twice a day, once in the morning and once at night before going to bed. Wash it before you apply the lotion with any soft soap without rubbing on it, just use your hand, or if you have someone that can wash it for you if is difficult for yourself (I helped my wife wash her lower back tattoo when she go it).
If you are getting your clothes or the bed sheets stuck to it, then use a big bandage to cover it. It is ok to use it as long it is a non stick (as you said) and make sure it doesn’t have plastic on the outside so your skin can stay ventilated, otherwise you will seat and that is not good (it will take longer to heal, and some of the fresh ink can be expelled from your skin that way making the tattoo fade faster).
After a week or so you should be fine as your skin will start peeling (in most cases) and you won’t need any lotion or bandage anymore.
Note to those that only posted hate messages: GROW UP!!!!

My goodness, didn't realise so many people thought badly of tattoos. I have 4 and proud of them all. I didn't experience any sticking at all. I had 1 done in the UK and was told to remove bandage after 2 hours and apply Savlon cream 3 times a day.
While on holiday in Florida I had 3 done on 3 different occasions. Each time I used something different. The last Tattoo I got done was April 2006 while on holiday and I used Vitamin A and E cream. It was very greasy like vaseline but helped it to stop sticking. Mines was between my shoulder blades. Yes, And don't re-bandage it. Good Luck with the healing. I also used A&D.

Wow I didn't know that some people were this mean about tattoo'd people! Gaw! Anyways I think it'd be fine to wrap it just at night and unwrap it as soon as possible in the am. I got one on my butt and had the same problem :) I just kept a piece or gauze on it while I was wearing clothes and bandaged it at night and I'm fine now... it looks like a regular tattoo. I just wouldn't keep it on longer than needed. Good luck :)

Um i have one back there too, its just something you r going to have to deal with if you cover it back up it will not heal. A tatto is like a scrap or someting and it has to get a scab during the day don't put alot of A&D on it just enough to keep it moist and try not to have anything on it like if you are in the house walk aroud without a shirt on that helps. Hopefully you can get it to scab up and you wont stick to the bed any more. Good luck!

You cannot recover it. Re covering it will not allow proper healing. I agree that you probably are putting on too much A+D at night time. Try and put on a little less and start sleeping on your stomach.
If this happens again, I suggest switching to light unscented lotion right before bed instead of the sticky A=D. Use the A+D throughout the day and the lotion at night before bed.

I had the exact same thing happen to me... I hated it too. I found out that using less A&D at night really helped alot. Do not use very much of it and you will not stick to the sheets or your clothes. Depending on how big your tattoo is... use like a tiny tiny bit and rub it in completely before bed. This shoud help alot... or at least it did help me.
Keep me posted on how it goes! Good Luck!

I would think that putting a bandage on at night would be better than sticking to the sheets. I never really had that problem.

The solution is simple: you just have to rub in the ointment really well -- all the way in, so there is no goop or stickiness on the surface. Also, wear an old t-shirt to cover it. No prob!
I've had tattooing all up and down my back, and I had no special pain (beyond "sunburn" feel) sleeping. Just suck it up and bear it, pain comes with tattoos....

don't pay attention to anybody that is "slamming" you on here. the same thing happens to me EVERY time that i get my back tattoo worked on. that's just how it happens and i KNOW it hurts... usually it only happens two nights and then there is a good scab formed to keep it from sticking and hurting.
good luck with the rest of your healing!!

You must be using to much A&D..
you just use a thin layer just to get it moist enough. put someone before bed and let it dry a little then start out on your stomach. if that doesnt work, then use a GENTLE unscented lotion at night- nothing sticky
