Yes but just don't play it. Only play it when flight attendants allow you to do so. Below is a prohibited and permitted items list.

Even with higher security you will be able to bring it on the flight with you. The pilot will make an announce ment saying no electronics may be used at this time during take off. but when you are at the crusing altitude he will make announcement saying electronics may be used at this time. you should be able to. you will just need to stick it in the container they give you that goes under the x-ray thingy. i took my ipod to florida in march & i just put it in the tray & was good to go. same w/ the cell phone.
