Serious question.

There are multiple testimonies of people who have turned from the catholic church to become "Born Again" the majority of these tend to be from people who were born catholic and later left the church.

the distinguishing characteristic is that most is not all do not have an real understanding of Catholicism.

On the other hand the people who convert to catholic from Protestand movements tend to have an in debth understanding of the protestant tradition and then develop a deep understanding of the catholic faith.

There are thosands of evangelical pastors who when they understand the catholic church properly come to the conclusion (by gods grace) that much of what they were thought and thought others was completly false.

So it would apear that converts to evangelical churches go there through ignorance and those who become catholic do it from a place of faith and wisdom.

Do you agree??

There are converts from most religions to most other religions. The person I know who has the best understanding of the Catholic church is now an atheist.

I can't speak for "the most if not all" point of view, because I've never seen statistics on the topic. I believe that I had a thorough and extensive Catholic school education, just wasn't a believing Christian at the time. It's really a matter of faith, not facts.

most people convert from religion to religion, or from non religion to religion due to something happening in their life. Someone born catholic, gets molested by catholic priest usually converts to something else or becomes agnostic or atheist. A non religious person's kid gets in a life threatening accident, everyone tells them to pray to god, they do, and the person survives, so they become christian.

Most conversions are due to events in peoples lives, has nothing to do with knowledge or understanding, or anything, because if people really had knowledge, they wouldnt be following man made religions, or actually believing that praying does anything.

Actually, the ones I have seen convert to protestant
did so because they wanted to learn more in-depth about
the actual scriptures instead of traditions.

I think many come to know who Christ is through
various denominations - one denomination
should not claim that's it's the only one!
I worship Christ Jesus Himself (not a church - though
I attend a church) - that is what the scripture says to do!

Sorry, I wish to unite all believers in Christ Jesus -
it is very important!

No. People who leave the Catholic church do so because they understand it all too well, and can no longer abide the hypocrisies and stupidities of its doctrine.

Hey even a broken clock is right twice a day. I might be ignorant in your eyes but I'd rather be ignorant and believe in God rather than wise like you and end up in hell.

Catholicism is obsolete, and people are getting smarter.
