I know im emo and guys like Preps!
but i dont want to change for a guy to like
me....i want to be myself..and that means
playing shows with my band and going crazy......
no one likes me, i guess im gonna live and die alone
and i dont want to change my ways and becoming girly...
my sis she's a prep..
my brother he's a football type of dude
i live with them, and my parents live in NY
im so tired of not having some one there for me.....
i mean im 16....and my life is soooooooo fu cked up!

Just the fact that you've reached out for help means you realize that there is a point where "emo" life converges with other lifestyles...we all have some common ground, and common challenges that tax us on a day-to-day basis. That's great because I'm sure you have a perspective that can be uniquely helpful to someone else who's struggling with coping with a seemingly harsh environment...and that someone so inclined could be similarly helpful to you. As is true with much of life, you get happiness where you find it....maybe you will find friendships and support systems among folks outside your regular sphere of vision (stranger things than this have been known to happen), and having reached out already, you're obviously open to the idea. This is good; then from here, to have a friend you need to be a friend. So be a voice for the "emo" perspective while you're here...make your presence known. Welcome to the community...we'll all know where to find you!

Hi Emo, I am not a guy but let me tell you, you have so much to look forward at your age, the guys just don't know what they are missing but that will change....you don't need to be a prep or emo you are you and that is what is attractive to men. That one special guy is out there for you and you will know it when you meet him. I know your only 16 but there is a song from an artist back in the 80's it's Billy Squire and the song is emotions in motion, I want you to see if you can find it I think if you listen to the words you will understand why. It's actually a great uplifting and fun song, but you will connect to it.

Hun, I know things are tough right now and you're so tempted to change to fit what you think guys like, but that's not going to help you get the kind of guy you really want in your life. Stay who you are (no matter how tough that may be/seem), and you will eventually find someone who will accept you for who you are.
You don't want to have to pretend to be someone/something else for some guy to like you. Be strong, keep playing in your band, keep being the awesome emo chick you are. The right person will come along eventually. It's when you're not looking that the good ones come along.

well ur not alone there is plenty if ppl out there and others love emos i do
but thats not the point u dont need to change and ur the way u r and well all guys dont like preps
preps are stupid and mostly white and well emos they understand more about life and they cherish it more
and i would die 4 a girl like that but i cant find one and well i was emo and i liked a prep
and if u get noticed they wont care wat u look like or wat u do
so just be ur self

Don't get so down on yourself, things will perk up, your young and have your whole life ahead of you to meet and greet new people. It just seems that way now cause you don't feel like you fit in but trust me in time that's gonna change.

Hey, you're 16. Relax. Chill. What's the alternative - pretend to be someone else, just to get someone you're not compatible with, only for you to split up when you tire of pretending to be someone you're not.
Just be who you are - there's someone out there for everyone. Before long you'll be hooking up with one of the millions of guys out there who think there's nobody for THEM!
