If you are planning to wear a white dress you should wear a nude colored bra/ panties set...white bras and underwear will show though your dress (just try it with a white shirt and you will see what I mean) I would go dress shopping with your strapless bra so you know how the top of the dress will fit...you boobs will seem bigger w/ a bra on so you will need to account for the extra umph your bra will give to your size up top. I would save the cute lingerie for the honeymoon; most of the stuff is not comfortable for the all day adventure you are about to have and you will have time to change after you get to the hotel...in our case we ended up just taking a shower together because we were so gross from all the celebrating and saved the cute stuff for the next morning, it was a little more practical then. Good luck to you!

For shopping I would suggest just regular underwear and a strapless bra.
Once you have decided on a dress you will know the best type of bra to purchase with it. Most bridal shops also have bridal slips, petticoats, bras etc. and they will be able to make a reccomendation based on your dress and body type.
I reccomend a long line corset style bra, which helps hold everything in place under your dress. If you can get away without wearing a bra under a strapless dress like you ask, you're lucky. I have never had the luxury of even thinking about that option! You may be able to get away with a smaller strapless bra, or even some double sided tape!
Good luck!

Hehehe.... Good question, I was worried about it myself before my first shopping trip. Nude underwear (as close to your skin tone as possible) blends in best under dresses that may be fairly see through. Keep in mind that someone will most often be helping you dress, so full-coverage panties are better than a thong. As for bras, some stores will have bras you can wear while you try on dresses that are strapless and low-backed, since odds are you wont buy your own until you've picked out a dress and know what you need. Other stores don't have "try-on" bras, so I always wear a strapless one just in case. You can still see it, it generally shows in the back, but you still get the general idea. Plus I feel better wearing my own bra and it fits better!!
Good luck and happy shopping!

Well since your only beginning to shop, I'd wear a strapless bra or one with the clear straps so that you can see what your dress will look like is you choose one that is sleeveless or spaghetti strap. Since the boutique ladies are gonna be seeing your panties, I go with something simple but cute. No thongs or granny panties for sure. I would go with a hipster type of panty.
Now the day you go back for exact fittings, you'll need to have the bra and panties you are planning on wearing your big day, so that they can fit the dress accordingly.
Congratulations! And have fun picking out your dress.
Hope this helps!

Just shopping doesn't matter. I'd just wear your regular one. A lot of strapless dresses have built in bras.
Don't wear any weird underwear--navy blue, or black polkadots b/c it may show through.
What is important is to not wear a bra with wide straps since you'll have a hard time imagining what the dress would look like without, a bra with clear straps if you've got it. Strapless would be fine as long as you are comfortable in it. For a lot of dresses, they will provide you the corset bra.
At the fittings it is important to wear the exact bra you plan to wear on your wedding day to ensure a perfect fit.

If you're thinking of going strapless, get yourself a good strapless bra and wear it to all fittings, including trying things on with a view to picking the gown. Even if you don't wind up picking a strapless gown, you won't want to see bra straps when you try them on (or gowns with spaghetti straps or significant amounts of illusion netting on the bodice) because then you won't get a really good idea of what they look like.
As for panties...unless you think it important to wear tummy control panties, I'd only worry about them being clean and in good repair. Panties are unlikely to have a major effect on the look of a full wedding gown.

haha. I wish I had thought of this before going to try on wedding dresses. Many a strange saleslady saw my purple thong and cellulite that day!
Any neutral coloured panties will do...I wouldn't worry about the bra so much. Lots of dresses have em built in, and if not they'll give you cups.
Once you pick your dress and are having it fitted, make sure you wear the underwear/bra you will wear on your wedding day so that it fits perfect.
Have fun - and try on a few dresses that you don't THINK are your style, just to make sure. I thought I knew what I wanted, and ended up getting something completely different. Good luck!

I wore a strapless bra and nude colored panties shopping for my dress and to my fitting. I ended up not wearing a bra with my gown on the big day because:
1. it was 92 degrees
2. I had a corset top and wasnt going anywhere.
3. my boobs are fake so I didnt need any push-up!
Wear something you dont mind people seeing since the seamstress might have the back of your gown open to pin something, etc.
Wear some cute panties on your wedding day though! i wore light blue lace tanga cut ones! They are like a boy short/hipster cut so they were comfy too!

Wear whatever you normally wear, if you need a different bra they will provide you w one that works w the dress you try on. I was a little embarrased by my panties when i went in, so wear something you are ok w someone seeing the back of cuz more than likely you'll need help getting dressed, and they will see these while dressing. If you want to make sure they don't show through, wear nude coloring, cuz white will sometimes show through
