This is the passage where jesus tell his twelve disciples that they will each have a throne and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

This would include Judas who betrayed him a few chapters later.

If jesus is supposed to be god and man, and if god is all-knowing, why would he have given him a throne in heaven?

Jon M - verse 47 confirms that Judas was one of the 12. Are you know saying that jesus was lying in verses 28-30?

Brother Micheal - Verses 3 & 4 only refer to "satan" entering into Judas. It does not say he left. Again, was jesus lying in verses 28-30?

The Gospel of Judas explains all this, but of course that one was excised from the cannon along with the gospel of Mary.

Well, if he had said "everybody except you Judas" he would have spoiled the whole plan of God. Jesus knew that Judas would betray him, that he would be crucified, etc. because that was the plan of God and Jesus himself also told his disciples that one of them would betray him. Judas obviously did not inherit his throne because the Apostle Paul replaced him after he died.

It doesn't say that all 12 of the apostles at that time will sit on the thrones that Jesus only those who

"stood by Me in My trials;"

As Judas did not stand by Jesus in His trials, then he would not have been given a throne in Heaven.

Just a thought...

Because if Judas hadn't betrayed him, Jesus never could have suffered for our sins and died and been resurrected.

It was all set-up from the beginning - like the guy who punches Danny Ocean in Ocean's Eleven. Without that, the whole plan is pooched.

Since Judas was in on the whole bamboozle from the beginning, he still gets his cut of the profits.

Judas' betrayel was God's will carried out. Judas still believed that Jesus was the messiah and had placed his faith in him.

He had the throne. Judas also had agency to give it up. We are also promised a throne in Revelations, if we endure to the end.

First of all, go back to Luke 22:21-22
"But, behold, the hand of My betrayer is with Me on the table. And truly the Son of Man goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!"

Jesus has already condemned Judas, before he talked to the others.

Read John 13:18
"I DO NOT SPEAK CONCERNING ALL OF YOU. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me."

Read Mark 14:18-21
"Now as they sat and ate, Jesus said, "Assuradley I say to you, one of you who eats with Me will betray Me." And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to Him one by one, 'Is it I?" And another said 'Is it I?' He answered and said to them, "It is one of the twelve, who dips with Me in the dish. The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had never been born!"
Does that sound like Jesus was promising Judas anything in Heaven?? No, indeed not.

Why do you assume that included Judas?

Jesus knew the truth about Judas.

And Jesus knew He would call Saul, that is Paul to replace him.

Actually, if you look at vs.3 and 4, Judas had already left, and therefore was not being addressed here. He already knew who would replace him and would be counted among the apostles.
