Praying is a waste of time. It sounds like you are trying to use your religious beliefs as a sledgehammer to get him to stay. This is probably because you don't really want to address the real issues in your marriage.
Instead of trying to coerce him into listening to a pastor, try talking to him yourself. Lack of communication is the primary reason relationships fail.
It's no wonder why atheists tend to have lower divorce rates.

Don't act desparate. If you want to save your marriage don't do anything that makes him want to get further away from you. Focus on having an amicable separation and try to stay friends. He may decide that life away from you really isn't what he wants after all.
Do you have children together? If so, discuss the importance of continuing to do certain things together like celebrating the kids birthdays. This will get him thinking about his family bond without putting him on the spot.
Last of all, if you love him, you may need to let him go. You don't want someone who stays with you out of pity or entrapment. Meanwhile, do something new and exciting. Take a class or something. It may be that both of you need to break out of an old routine (not necessarily the marriage) and add some freshness to your lives.

Is he saying that him leaving is wrong, or him wanting a divorce is wrong? If it's him wanting the divorce that he's saying is wrong, then it's God that he's upset about hurting. If he's wanting a divorce and he's refusing counseling, then he's come to the conclusion that there is nothing that can make him happy in his present situation. It hurts. Belive me I know. It hurts bad! Spend some time apart and see if that helps. Good luck!

at this point religion/church is not so important. It will only make him hate religion so don't emphasize religion. As long as you have faith in God and give him some space. Keep yourself busy and do things that make you happy. Don't preach him. Work out, eat healthy, make yourself look good, dress good. By getting court ordered counseling, you only made it worse. Don't say or do anything that will make him feel bad.

I'm sorry to hear you are going through this. It obviously takes both of you to heal a marriage. One thought that occurred as I read your question, is it possible that he is uncomfortable with going to counseling with the pastor from your church? You might suggest that he pick a councilor. Maybe he would be more open to that idea. God bless.

You should keep your eyes on the Lord and He will keep you in perfect peace. You should try to reconcile your marriage. The Word says "let NO man put assunder what God has put together". Not even the man in the marriage can end it (unless there was fornication involved).
I will pray for you. Sister, seek FIRST the kingdom of God and all righteousness will be added unto you. This is not your fault. It happens. God gives us tests to build our character and make us stronger.
Pray that God will touch his heart and reconcile your husband back to God first and then back to you - his wife. I am praying for you.
Remember.... you are blessed and highly favored!

If he is hurt and angry with you, well, maybe you ought to be praying for God to bring you to your senses and reveal to you what you are doing to tear down your marriage. I will not lie to you, failed marriages are usually because women try to control their men in ways God did not intend. Please Go to:
http://www.createdtobehishelpmeet.org/
Buy the book, read the book, throw the book at the wall in anger, pick it up, read it again and cry when it speaks directly to your heart. I am not judging you, I do not know your individual circumstances, but men are pretty simple creatures when you get right down to it and this book brings marriage into spritual focus. This book will fly in the face of EVERY teaching about women/marriage in our current culture, every lie will be revealed, and you will either hate it or praise God for it the rest of your happy marriage. I earnestly pray that it is not too late and that God will use this as a way to glorify Himself and bring your marriage many happy blessings. God Bless.

You can lead a horse to water...but you can't force a person to participate in counseling, even if he went, it wouldn't have much affect on him. I understand that this is difficult for you, marriage is supposed to be ''death-do-you-part" stuff...hope you find the faith and courage to continue to practice your own spirituality when he seems to be going against his own. Good luck!

All you can do is pray. GOD knows what you both are feeling. He knows the perfect way to resolve this issue. Just remember though, "It takes two to tango." Be prepared that your husband might not come to his senses before the divorce is final. Talk with your husband about his anger and his feelings and see what can be done to resolve both of your issues. Trust GOD to give the both of you the perfect solution.
