This question may seem kind of obvious but there is a point to it. It is a basic form of integrity test used in many police type work. The guy they don't want is the person who claims to have never done anyting wrong. Also so often I hear people usig other groups hypocrisy to dismiss their over all beliefs all the while knowing we to have been hypocritical. So is that even a good argument? Any additonal thoughts are welcome.

Yeah, well let's cut out the b--s--t. I don't want to spend any more time here than I have to. You can have the license, the price is 250,000 dollars. Plus a monthly payment of 5% of the gross -- of all four hotels. Mister -- Corleone.

Now the price of the license is less than 20,000 dollars, am I right?

That's right.

Now why would I ever consider paying more than that?

Because I intend to squeeze you. I don't like your kind of people. I don't like to see you come out to this clean country in your oily hair -- dressed up in those silk suits - and try to pass yourselves off as decent Americans. I'll do business with you, but the fact is, I despise your masquerade -- the dishonest way you pose yourself. Yourself, and your whole ******* family.

SENATOR - we're both part of the same hypocrisy. But never think it applies to my family.

All right, all right -- some people have to play little games. You play yours. So lets just say that you'll pay me because it is in your interest to pay me. But I want your answer and the money by noon tomorrow. And one more thing: don't you contact me again -- ever. From now on you deal with Turnbull.

(then, to Al)

Open that door son.

Uh, senator -- you can have my answer now if you like. My offer is this -- nothing. Not even the fee for the gaming license, which I would appreciate if you would put up personally.

(laughing) Good afternoon, gentlemen.

It is always easier to point with your finger to others, yet lack to see your own faults.
I know there was a time I wanted to cover it up and pretended it didn't exist in my life. But the more I grew in my relationship with the Lord, I was humbled and saw the hypocrisy in some parts of my life and thus repented, asked the Lord for help and strength and turned from those bad ways.
With the Lord anything is possible.
Praise to the Lord of Heaven and Earth.
God bless you.

everyone is a hypocrite at some point in their lives. it is very hard to find someone who has never advised against something then done it thmesleves, but very few people will adimit their hypocrisy. i know i can be vey hypocritical at times, but very few people are like me and will admit it. im not saying that im perfect (indeed, i just admitted to being a hypocrite), im just saying that very few people can live their lives without being a hypocrite

It's always easier to point out flaws in others that differ from you. I have had to do point out my own hypocrisy, but I can't say it was easy. (I'm just being honest, so I won't be a hypocrite like some who might say that it is always totally easy for them. B/c I don't think that it's that easy for anyone...)

Just my opinion though! :-)

I don't think it is always easy to recognise it in others. We can make judgements but that's not the same thing. We are all hypocrites on one level or another at different times.

You've completely lost me now. Are you telling me I am now qualified to be a police officer!!???? I hope not.

Definitely. I've even stopped myself in mid-sentence and corrected myself before. Everyone is a hypocrite at one time or another... but we should strive NOT to live as a hypocrite. ^_^

*sigh* hit the submit button too quick... not to live as a hypocrite. geez, I wish it were Friday. lol

Now that i am older and hopefully wiser, i now do admit my mistakes .when i am wrong i will admit it and even apologize.and now except criticism well.I try to learn and not be so darn stubborn like i used to.
I tell people to eat right to help and even cure their arthritis and i still smoke cigarettes so i am a hypocrite for sure.Peace

To admit error is the beginning of healing and forgiveness.
There is no one without error anymore. Salam

Sure, cos people LOVE to point out when others make a mistake or are wrong, but NEVER want to admit that they themselves are wrong or have made an error.

I can admit and I have admitted it.

Sometimes I lose my temper with the ignorance and bigotry here. Then I become the one judging and that is hypocritical.
