I just had surgery on my tooth earlier today and they said not to eat any food that you have to chew-only mashed potatoes and soup-and they also said that I cant exercice today or tomorrow....Why cant I exercise?Does swimming count as "exercise"?

THE DENTIST DOES NOT WANT YOU TO DO THINGS LIKE WEIGH LIFTING OR HEAVY AEROBIC EXERCISE FOR FEAR THAT YOU MAY DISLODGE THE BLOOD CLOT THAT IS FORMING AFTER A TOOTH EXTRACTION.
SWIMMING IS NOT SUCH AN EVENT.DON'T SMOKE OR DRINK THOUGH STRAWS FOR A FEW DAYS, AS THIS CAUSE THE CLOT TO BE LOST.

try to eat soft and liquid food and don't chew just swallow.

i guess they say that if you jump or do any exercise your gums will get swollen...
