Anger is a strong negative emotion that desires ill against the cause of the anger.
Anger is a harsh task master, and can lead to murder. Just ask Cain why he murdered his brother Abel.
Jesus said that if you are angry at another, you are already guilty of murder in your heart. I believe that is not the mere emotion, but the attitudes that go along with those emotions, because Scriptures also say "Be angry, but do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your wrath."
I hope this helps to answer your question.

Anger, often seen as a negative emotion, is one of the strongest emotions.
When it is harnessed it can right mighty wrongs, give someone super-human strength and endurance, and fuel revolutions.
When feral it can harm loved ones, slowly eat away at the soul, and ultimately cause useless, and soon forgotten sacrifice.
ADD: Hercules is a great metaphor for both types of anger as a strength.
He was capable of personal feats of might, and also a leader of men on heroic adventures.
He, also, was given to drink and lashing out. He killed not just one but two sets of his own happy families through loss of control. His death was a revenge by someone who felt that they had been wronged by Hercules using might over right.

The Yahoo Watchdogs.
Perceived as a negative emotion, anger(or to be angry),is Silent or Visable Displeasure, activated by thought procesess,by thinking that has it's roots in both logical, illogical and or right/wrong perceptions. Off the top of my head, that's all I can muster right now....there are better definitions...I am in funny mode and can not think right now...so,now I am getting angry.

How about taking offense? Sinful anger means you take offense on your own behalf. Godly anger means you take offense on the behalf of someone else, for example, those who cannot defend themselves.
