Should we really pump chemicals into our kids when 1) it doesn't guarantee immunity, and 2) it's not life-threatening?

Here is the general way the FDA makes the decision:

If there is more of a chance for a child getting the disease from normal exposure than from getting the vaccine, then vaccinate.

If there is more of a chance for a child getting the disease from the vaccine than from normal exposure, then don't vaccinate.

In terms of the HPV vaccine, HPV has a high potential to be life threatening, so pros and cons have been weighed and the FDA gave the go ahead on adminstering the vaccine.

Chemicals are scary, but I'm more worried about the pesticides used on our food and our lawns making us sick than vaccines.

What vaccine do we give them that doesn't protect them agianst a life threatening disease? I believe that all of them have a purpose and even though we have meds to fight the diseases we wouldn't them if every had the disease.

I think not, but the law has got you over a barrel. If your kids are NOT vaccinated against certain disease, they cannot go to school.

all the vaccinations that children recieve by law are indeed life threatening if they are contracted in adulthood. And some are life threatening to children too.

i am about vaccinations so i may not be the best to answer this question the way you want it to be.....i rather prevent my child from getting very sick then take a chance but thats just me! they were invented for a reason......just like epidurals they dont always take effect and labor isnt normally life threatening but 98% of women get one (not me though!)....to each his own

Although the childhood diseases aren't considered "life threatening", they can have serious complications. Do you want to be responsible for that?

Nope.
And it is NOT true that you MUST get your children vaccinated. THey can indeed go to school (In my state anyway) and you merely need to sign papers saying you will keep them out of school if they get signs of a contagious illness.
More and more ppl are realizing how unnecessary shots are these days and how dangerous they really are.

I proudly do not vaccinate my children or myself, have read the 'risks' and am sticking to my desicion. (DO NOT send me hate mail saying Im endangering my children I will report you to yahoo.)
I trust God to take care of my children. Getting shots is like slapping God and saying, "I don't trust you to keep my children healthy."
And the HPV shot? What happened to actually teaching your children NOT to have premarital sex??
