Not me buddy!!!!! I am a christian and I don't debate. But I know what you mean. People try to make others think they know more and are more intelligent on biblical matters. When I answer a question-I tell my opinion and what I think. It's left up to each individual to decide how to take it. You generalize and say " all christians" which is not true. When people ask question about religion-I always wonder is this a serious one or is the asker just trying to get a rise. Most of the askers really don't want honest answer. So don't count me in catagory of 10 in a room. But I will answer questions that catches my eye and ones that I know a little something about.

Because when there are many, there will be many differences. When there are few, we will come together on the "larger points"
For instance if you only had 2 Christians in a room of 200 non-Christians, the Christians would probably unite. But if you have 200 Christians in a room by themselves, they will find things to be divided by. But say Atheists start entering the room, the more Atheists enter the more Christians will begin to unite.
This is why Christians began putting aside denominational differences around 1800, because there was a rise in Deism and Agnosticism, even Atheism, so Christians began putting aside issues like if baptizing babies "counted" toward salvation. Consequently the Christians thrived more and got along better.

different backgrounds, different cultures, etc. etc. People come from all walks of life into Christianity. Do you think early Jewish Christians agreed with the new Gentile Christians on every point? Of course not. The basic gospel message is pretty simple, Jesus is God's Son, left heaven, came to die as a sacrifice for our sins and rose again the 3rd day defeating death. If you believe that He died for your sins, you will be with Him in Heaven. That basic message is foundational to all Christianity, no matter what "brand"

A Christian believes that Jesus Christ is their Savior... I don't recall much debate about that...most non-believers understand that statement.. If you are referring to the thousands and thousands of details in the Bible...Go figure.. you do the math...
By the way..based on this line of thinking..There can be only One Democrat and a lot of others that disagree but still vote the same way.. Or one Republican... and a bunch of disagree-ers . Or one science teacher...or one historian ..etc., etc.

I think it is like lake Woebegone, where everyone is above average. I would "debate" rather than hide my light under a bushel because I DO know quite a bit about the truth as it is in YAHOSHUA!

I have never heard this. EVERYONE has their own opinions. I mean there are republicans and democrats and that debate among their own party. I am a Christian and I have friends that are christians and we never argue or debate. We just have our beliefs and feelings on certain things. I know Christians who are pro life and some who are pro choice. I know Christians that drink and others that dont. But they never debate nore argue over it. NOBODY really knows who is a 100% right. If you told me "I dont beleive in Jesus." I would never say "YOU ARE SO WRONG!!!!" I would simply say "I personally believe in Jesus because that is what my faith is about. I believe in him totally and thats what I feel is right. I could only hope you would like to agree with me someday, because I FEEL like Im right. But only God knows who is correct. I dont know who is truely right."
However I know what you are talking about. I get often annoyed with Christians who live thier lives dayd to day by the bible but judge people in and out and will be the first to judge you and they sin with the rest of them.
Sorry you have had a bad experience with the Christians you have encountered. I hope that doesnt perk your opinion on all of them.

The funny thing with that is the things they debate among are not who has the right soteriological doctrine. (What it takes for one to be saved.) Christians believe accepting Christ as one's savior is what it takes to be a Christian. Therefore, the things they debate over are useless and shows nothing but personal preference, just as atheists and other religions debate among themselves over different things.

A "Christian" technically is a "Follower of Christ" however, with all the different churches and church rules and teachings, it's no wonder it becomes a debate. Plus, the Bible has a lot of different interpretations and the churches slant it to their teachings.

Because everyone has a different opinion about what a Christian really is. For example, some people say they are a Christian when they don't really even believe the Bible.
