It's not "filled" with descriptions, but it does mention them. During much of ancient times there was a wide acceptance of worshipping Baal. And, in the worship, there was a free for all concerning sex. Most of the times that it is mentioned is when God is unhappy with what His people are doing and He wants them to turn away from Baal and the other false gods and return to the true God.
One must have an understanding of the times and places for much of the Bible to make sense. It's not just studying the Bible, but studying history as well.

The Song of Songs is pretty racy but I would not call it "great descriptions of wild, unabandoned SEX"
