When you say "God" people automatically think big dude in the clouds, fantasy, magic, illusion, BS etc. But what people need to realize is that God is something that's inside every human being. It's dare I say not a large omnipotent force, but rather, something feral inside all of us that extrapolates into a larger idea. So when people try to push their "God" (be it Christian, Muslim, Shinto...) on other people they are threatened. That is why God is such a touchy subject. Everyone has a God to believe in and fight for, but it's just some people automatically associate the word "God" with Christianity, and then with organized religion. I think it's time we change the way the word is used, and come to terms with the fact that God cannot be ignored, because when you're on your death bed, even if you've been an atheist all your life, you will pray to God. So, please, stop being so stubborn and just figure out what God is to YOU. Then we can stop those radical right wing SOB's.

Besides the G-d issue, we are all part of the human race, and that is what makes us the same to each other. It is when we focus on the differences between us, those traits that make us unique, is when the problems occur and people are mean and contemptible towards one another. It is a shame that we behave like primal creatures rather than civilised human beings.

Uh, it's simply not true that everyone has a god to believe in and fight for.
Those of us who don't believe in god do NOT believe in god.
I don't get what's so hard for you to understand about this concept, but it's very rude of you to tell ME what _I_ think, rather than listening to what I tell you I think.
I'm in a position to know what's in my head; you are NOT.
It is NOT true that atheists pray when they die. That is a lie made up by people who refuse ro recognize that there are atheists in the world.
So please stop being so stubborn and stop trying to lie to me about what I believe.

I will not pray to god on my death bed, I will simply smile and know that I led a life of helping mankind without having to be told to. Then I'll cease to exist. And I'm ok with that.
Please quit saying that atheists believe in god. I can assure you, we do not.

I agree..i . But, we have to preach our God, and be a witness for him. There is only one true God. And, if extremist Muslims, AND Christians can ever stop using God a a tool for war and Jihad and such, then maybe we can stop trying to push the idea of a loving and forgiving God onto them.

I promise, PROMISE you this... I have been an atheist all my life. I always will. I will NEVER pray to a God that is scientifically highly improbable to exist.
